Occasionally I'll see posts which don't indicate what they're replying to, or I'll see two messages in a row, which are obviously in response to two different posts, which leads me to believe that the poster is using the threaded view and replying to individual posts.

This got me wondering; Which way do YOU view this board; Flat, which puts all the messages on a single page, oldest last, or Threaded, where you have to click on each post to read it?

I use the flat view myself. I like that I don't have to click each message and I can see everything on one page. The downside is that long threads sometimes take a while to load on dialup.

I use threaded myself.  Atleast that way I can keep track in long posts of what I've read and what I haven't.

I use the flat view. It's easier and I'm just plain lazy.

Flat all the way.  I won't use forums that don't have it as an option.  Threaded takes too much time and it's frustrating to click on a comment to find out it wasn't worth the effort of clicking.

I used flat and will use italics to quote anything of importance I'm referencing in my reply

Threaded all the way.

You people have a choice??

I have been threaded [the one where you have to click on each post?]for as long as I have been here, until I started using Mozilla where it just went flat automatically for some reason.

Now I have wiped my computer, and am back to using IE and also back to threaded and was thoroughly confused.

But with me typing this, now that I actually pay attention, I can see the flat view option link... Silly me.  That's what I get for being lazy and non-attentive...  Still doesn't explain why it was all different before.

Also about italics, now that i have actually payed attention, now i see how we do that [i never knew how to before]

Once again, paying attention is usually a good thing, something I should probably do more often.

Also, my connection is just too slow for me to be able to wait to see each individual post.  Flat is the only way I can really participate.

Flat for me. I use it on any board where it's an option.

When I'm reading a topic for the first time flat is good but when It's one I'm returing threaded is better because I don't have to scroll and find my way to the newest post.

I never even noticed the option to change formats. I've been using threaded for quite some time now. I might switch now, though.
