This is a limited series on NBC (8 parts I think) about a Harvard Astrophysicist (Bill Pullman) and a nun (Natascha McElhone) investigating events that may be leading to  the apocalypse.

In the first epsisode Dr. Massey (Pullman) helps bring in the Satanist that murdered his twelve year old daughter. Sister Josespha (McElhone) travels the world looking for and verifying signs of The End of Days. Of course Massey has to have everything proved by science, until he starts seeing that the satanist is exhibiting what appear to be supernatual powers and a braindead young girl starts quoting revelations in Latin.

Even though this was the setup for the series, I think it had plenty of creepiness and thrills.

The way the young lady gets braindead is actually well executed. She is running across a golf course during a thunderstorm when she it hit by lightning. There are a lot pyrotechnics then they go to a shot of her smoldering shoes, I go wow she vaporized, but then they show her up in a tree. The tree is then hit by lightning breaking off the limb she is hanging over.

There was also a shipwreck at sea with only one survivor, a male toddler ( who figures in next week's ep). The sister goes to see a mountain where a cross complete with bleeding Jesus appears in shadow on a solid rock cliff and there is nothing to make the shadow.

This is on Wednesday  at 8:00 Central on NBC. The official website says it will be rebroadcast on Bravo on Saturdays at 6:00 Central and Tuesdays at 10:00 Central.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I watched part of it, and liked what I saw.  It seemed to be a pretty good show.

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

Mr Hockstatter

Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out.

I went back and edited my original post. The two rebroadcasts occur on Bravo. I swear NBC owns half the cable channels now.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I watched it. The part where the head of Jesus moves towards the crowd gave me goosebumps. Actually the shadow of Jesus's head I should say.  I think the baby is going to be the antichrist .

I didn't see it, but my dad did and it sounds better than I thought it would be. I've kind of had it up to here with stuff where they say it's got something to do with the Revelation, but then it's got a plucky nun trying to ward off the second coming with the spear of Longinus or a magic amulet or something, and good/evil twin babies etc. I wish that when they did that they'd say it's based on some totally made up book, like Dzyan or Eibon or something. Anyway, I'm saying that this sounds like it WASN'T like that, at least to the degree that I expected.

It's also showed on USA Friday at 10:00pm I think. I guess NBC is reshowing it on all their cable channels.

Watched the first part last night on Sci-Fi Channel and thought it was good for a TV mini series. It moved right along with the subject of REVELATION. Looking forward to the next episode.
