Im trying to find an 80's movie on tape or DVD but I dont remeber the name. It was a haunted house movie where when a zombie fell over he split into lots of little monsters, and there was a giant monster in the house that put an eyeball on a little boys hand, the little boy later killed the monster with a model rocket.Any help in finding what movie this was would be greatly appriciated.

Ash

That sounds like THE GATE
I may be wrong though.

Kaijuman,

I'm with Ash.  That seriously sounds like The Gate, one of the best PG-13 horror films ever.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Like the others said, I think it's The Gate as well.  Don't recall the "eyeball hand" thing, but I do remember a scene where a zombie falls to the ground and his body splits into several (clay animated) monsters who then run off.

Believe there was also a sequel to that movie, but never saw it...

I agree.  Killing the monster with a model rocket was what clued me in.

You're a better man for not having seen it.

All I remember of the sequel was that the nerdy kid from the first movie used the book to open a portal to hell AGAIN, which involved killing a hamster for its blood... better than that, though, he uses the powers of hell to give all of his friends cold, hard CASH, which literally turns into s**t after a few hours.  What a lame sequel, considering how much I liked the first The Gate.BTM wrote:

Thank you all , it was The Gate, now I just need to order it...

I actually found it at Best Buy for 5.99.  I thought the Gate was fantastic.  Stephen Dorff as a little boy.   Too cute..

I remember when network channels used to play movies instead of reality shows,  theGate was all ways in heavy rotation. I must have seen it a dozen times when I was little.

The Gate is awesome! It's funny to see a young Stephen Dorff in it - I think he was like 13/14 at thte time. Did anyone see the sequel?
