Ha-ha...get your minds out of the gutter...
My wife dragged me to Walmart tonight for some crap and while we were there, I noticed the $5.50 DVD bin was actually organized this time. I won't waste my time going through it normally as it's too much of a pain in the ass when movies are just thrown in there.  This time it was all neat so I had at it.
I found Magnum Force AND The Enforcer.
I just got done watching The Enforcer and I must say, it was everything I remembered and then some. What a great Dirty Harry movie this is. The transfer and remastering of this is also very well done. There is nothing like seeing Harry blast scum with his big old .44 on DVD.  And though the DVD doesn't improve on this any, it was good to see his lack of respect for authority without the aid of network censors:
"It's a seven pointed suppository."
"What did you say to me?"
"I said stick it up your ass."

Tomorrow I'll watch Magnum Force. This weekend, I will return and purchase Sudden Impact which I passed on tonight because I didn't have enough money and although I like Sudden Impact, it's not one of the better Dirty Harry movies so I could live without it if I had to.

Keep looking, I think they broke up the boxed sets for clint eastwod so there are more in there. I'm waiting for the twilight zone box set 2 to get broken up, it saves me from having to buy them ALL when i can just pick the ones i like. :)

I was in walgreens the other day and glanced at their dvd's, they had a $3 bin with some pretty well known films and b movies. I'll have to check them out this weekend.

The only thing i hate about the walmart dvd bin is the psychological dig factor. The bin is entirely empty and you begin to dig and look keenly interested, within 10 minutes there is such a crowd nobody can squeeze by. And btw i LOVE IT when bored walmart workers organize the movies stacked up. makes my day

Cheap DVD's is the only reason I go to Walmart. The place is a real jungle !

I noticed this also. I scouted the bin from a distance for about 5 minutes and nobody even gave it a second look. I started going through it and people were collecting like flies on *poop*. One guy decided to dig all the way to the bottom and destroy the organized set-up that they had there.
It does look like they might have broken up the box sets but I really need to find the original Dirty Harry which seemed to be missing. Now that I think about it, The Dead Pool couldn't be found either but I kind of disavow the existence of that one anyway.
I looked on ebay and I see that people are selling these $5.50 movies there but nobody is nice enough to have a worthwhile Dirty Harry DVD for a decent price. If I'm going to pay that much for a DVD, I'll buy it from an established company, not some bozo on ebay.

My mind naturally exists in the gutter. It would be like a fish out of water. (:

I have to agree with Susan about people crowding around.  If there's a bunch of sweaty fat dudes digging through the bin then I'll stay away.  Normally after they've found their Andy Griffith DVDs, they'll leave the bin.  Also, having slight agoraphobia keeps me away from the bin as well.

If it's not too crowded the next time I go by there, I'll pick up some Dirty Harry flicks.  I haven't seen any in years.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

They got in a new shipment of Dollar Double features so I couldn't resist. 12 movies for $6 is too good to resist.

Here are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Last Man on Earth (Vincent Price)
House on Haunted Hill (Vincent Price. already had this as a single)
Gamera the Invincible
Attack of the Monsters
Little Shop of Horrors
Tormented
King of the Zombies
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (John Barrymore)

I can't remember the titles on the other two.  I also picked up the William Shatner/Leonard Nimoy Mind Meld DVD for $3.99. It's interesting listening to them discuss their careers and personal lives and the effect Star Trek had on them.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

One time I saw real cheap videos in the Walmart near me (they were like $1.88 or around there) but they don't do that any more. The cheapest they have are the $5.50 movies and sometimes they have 2 movies packed together for $9.99. I'd like to be able to get some good deals like I read about on here from time to time but my local Walmart is holding me back, man. Halloween last year I did get a few $1 videos from the dollar store, one of which was The Undertaker and His Pals which is a totally hilarious movie but the transfer was horrible.

Funny story about the $5.50 bin...
They have a sign on it that says $5.50 on one side and on the other side it says '2 for $11'. Last year I was just looking through what was on the surface when these 2 annoying ladies came along and started digging. One said: "Look, they're $5.50." and the other said: "Over here it says 2 for $11...which is it?" They then started complaining back and forth between themselves about this. I figure I could've probably cleared this up but decided to be my wonderful, non-helpful self and walk away thinking how I had done a good deed by not saying anything. The way I look at it is that they obviously needed something to complain about and this was perfect for them.

Yeah i've seen the $1 dvd's at walmart but nothing i'd be interested in, mostly old robin hood tv shows or something so obscure

If anyone wants to do an experiment they should study the walmart bin. Why do people pass it by, you can watch for 10 minutes and nobody stops. But if you start hanging in there pulling movies out i guarantee within 10 minutes you'll be bumping elbows. And man, some people get nasty. I had one lady flat out start cussing to her husband in front of me that i was tossing movies where she couldn't see them.

I was like beeyach, take yo copy of Houseguest and be on yo merry way. So i had to body slam her ;-)

well at least that was my mental jerry springer moment before i rolled my eyes and walked off

"I was like beeyach, take yo copy of Houseguest and be on yo merry way. So i had to body slam her ;-)"
And while doing so, you needed to keep repeating "You nasty, you nasty."
