Although I wanted to, I haven't been able to purchase this movie yet as I have other things that I had to use the money for. While watching TV the other night, I saw an ad for the DVD release in which it was stated something along the lines of "get it now before it's too late." Hmm? Does this mean it's a limited release and I'll be screwed if I don't get it? Or, are they just trying to worry me into getting it so when the directors cut/collectors edition comes out (you know it will happen) in 3 months, I will be needing to purchase it again?
Anyone know about this?

DON'T BUY IT!

Wait for the super duper collector's ulitmate edition that Rodriguez has been talking about lately.  The current release has NO special features.

They're trying to scare you into thinking that the current release will sell out before you can buy a copy.  Don't buy into that though, just wait for the collector's edition.

And I always wait to buy a Disney flick, because they are always cheaper at WalMart a year after the initial release, even though the film will "disappear back into the Disney vault"--man what a marketing coup, and folks fall for it!

Ya know, I kinda wanted the cover with Alba on it...I will, however, take your advice and wait as I figured they'd whack us with a collectors edition later on...they just better have Alba on the cover.

Hehe, I love that poster.  After seeing Land of the Dead a couple of weeks ago I was in the cinema's toilets after downing a bottle of coke during the movie, and saw an A4 sized poster-ad for Sin City, the one with Alba on it [take a guess why they put it in the mens? :-P ]  Anyway, someone had tried to take it off the wall by tugging on the edge, but did a pretty pathetic job of it, so seeing an opportunity for mischeif, I just took the whole ad off and took it home with me, a nice sized, laminated ad for Sin City.

Oh and stealing's wrong kids... leave it to the proffessionals...

Apprently I broke from everyone else, since I have the original red "Marv" poster with the band aids and all.  Quite possibly the best poster I've ever seen.

I bought the DVD and the Marv cover was the one I chose.

Ash, Rich...I hate both you sumb***hes...I doubt my wife would allow me to hang that poster anywhere. I've seen it, I know I need it...but I wouldn't be allowed to hang it. Sigh...

The Marv poster or maybe the one with everybody in it are my favourite ones, I just have the Alba one because I was an opportunistic sonofagun...

Also, speaking of Marv, I found it funny when I saw the movie that this 'hardcore' old british punk sitting in front of me was having a field day in Marv's sequence.  I think he found a new hero: he kept saying how much he thought Marv rocked and I couldn't help but chuckle.

Before I found out that this release isn't an SE, I really wanted the one with Clive Owen on the front.
