THE GUN AND  THE PULPIT (1974) - Marjoe Gortner stars in this made for TV Western as a gunslinger who escapes a hanging and takes the cloths off a dead preacher along the trail. He then replaces the town preacher and goes up against a town bad guy and his gang while everyone thinks he is a preacher with unusual talent with a gun except Slim Pickens character who knows his real past. Very entertaining film with some great dialogue, neat 70's TV music, and Western action. The film also stars Pamela Sue Martin. We can all add this to our list of good made for TV movies from the 70's.

Marjoe Gortner has quite a bio over at imdb.com as a former child evangelist turned film/tv star. He also stars in FOOD OF THE GODS (1976).

Yes, Marjoe had an interesting past. His parents were using him as the kid evangelist.  They had a sure fire way to get a small kid to memorize Bible verses, dunk his head under water until he remembers it.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Starcrash?

With David 'Baywatch' Hasselhoff and Christopher 'I must be deseprate for money' Plummer?

"Imperial starship, halt the flow of time!"  I don't know how Plummer delivered that line with a straight face.
