Two movies I hope to see reviewed here some day-and both are Jim Carrey flicks!

I have found a couple of early Jim Carrey flicks that are absolutely awful. Obviously neither of these folks who did these films knew how to properly use Jim Carrey.

One is called Rubberface and is shown as a wacky comedy. Nothing can be further from the truth. This is a depressing overly "sad" drama with Carrey barely being able to make any kinda humorable stuff.

It's about a stand up comic who sucks(Carrey) but has a funny  sense of humor, so this depressed but brillant shy girl helps him get better.

The next one is slightly better but that ain't saying much. Copper Mountain has Carrey and Alan Thicke (yes, THAT Alan Thicke) as best buds who go to a ski resort to scope babes and ski the snow.

Carrey again plays a "funny" guy but this time he's shy with women and screws up everytime he tries to impress them. The only thing that sets this flick above Rubberface is a truly funny scene (the only one) where he impersonates Sammy Davis Jr. but that's it.

Copper Mountain can be found at just about any Wal-Mart in the 5.50 bin , Rubberface might be a little harder to find.

Anyway  I'd love to see both of these movies ripped apart here..............

God, why did some moron decide to ruin the Dukes Of Hazard with Jessica Simspon as Daisy? Yeaaaaauuurrrgggghhh--the HORROR!

Unless it's unintentionally funny bad, it probably won't get reviewed here.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Does anybody else notice Carrey recycles every joke in Ace Ventura 2 that he did in the first one?

I personally can't stand Jim Carrey. He can act but when they let him riff on his own in a movie he comes across like a low rent Robin Williams knock-off.

Like a glove!!!

I know somebody who can quote either of the Ace Ventura movies [and who cares if the jokes are recycled, they are still damn funny] line for line in an absolutely fantastic imitation of Jim Carrey.

Glad to know I'm not alone...

Still, I'll take him over Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler anyday... sad, huh?

Glad to know somebody can quote Carrey's body of work; how about naming all fifty states? Well, maybe Dumb & Dumber 3: The Final Sad Chapter will cover that...

My own favorite quote:
"I knew you knew I didn't know you knew."

I guess he had a bad experience with Ace Ventura 2--I can't think of any other sequels he did to other popular movies, and a Dumb and Dumber 3 is definetly out--he even refused the second one so.........

I like him but some of his stuff is bad--usually it's the stuff where they don't let him do whatever he wants. Any kinda control over him makes it a stinker since they never know how to use him properly when they DO try to control him.

And I wouldn't say you were sad to think he was better over Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider. Now if it was vica versa then yes that would be sad seeing as Schneider has never done anything at all funny and the only good thing Sandler ever did was The Wedding Singer.

And then there is the aforementioned Robin Williams who is okay but who's best stuff was the Genie from Aladdin and Mork from his old show--other than that Willams isn't really all that funny.

Of course(and I know I'm gonna get ripped apart for this) I think Sly Stallone is a riot as well. If they (the critics) would just give him a chance without judging him before hand. He's already made some funny stuff and proven(at least to me) he can do comedy. Certainly better than Sandler, Schneider, and Williams.

If your looking for a good comedy I suggest Oscar with Stallone in it. there are also his hilarious bits in Demolition Man(great freakin' movie) and a hard to find SNL skit from the ol' days where he plays a clueless Computer Salesman--it's actually pretty funny.

The critics however seem to have a one track mind and only wanna mention Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot!--not comedy gold like Oscar
