And why? because he didn't have enough blacks in King Kong and his LOTR movies and what few there were were obviously slaves and racial hatred attacks on blacks. Essentially Jackson is a "racist" because blacks don't have all the dominant roles and aren't making whites kiss their feet--or at least that's what some ass seems to be saying. they are attacking Jackson over LOTR and King Kong saying they are racist for not having enough blacks in good roles or enough blacks period. they make the guy sound like a member of the KKK. What's insane is that they seem to forget there was a King Kong from the 1930's that Jackson's is based on and that the LOTR were books first .

they make it sound like these were ideas of Jackson's that he thought up simply to further a racist agenda.......

Personally I think they are taking movies too seriously.......

Wow...

You know, he does bring up some good points, despite my general disagreeable attitude towards it and he does discuss things with a reasonable amount of thought for the most part.

Just a few problems in his statistics and general reasoning: whilst he does make some good points, he negates them by making them in a way which is kind of annoying, and shows a lack of research in some areas. [why ask the question 'why did Peter Jackson make this and not another film' attempting to make him seem racist, when it is oft quoted that it's Jackson's favourite film because of how it opened his eyes to special effects etc]

You also have to respect the fact that he posts emails regardless of how positive or negative they are.  My Favourite email: Poor kid, having his fun afternoon at the cinema rounded off with “a complex discussion on negative stereotypes”. Milly Price, Cambridge

Anyway, don't dismiss this article as hypersensitive PC crap, even if for the most part it does seem to be.  Whilst I think McKenzie's argument is a little off [green natives?  Come on, that's just silly] he does give a reasonably good discussion-starting point on the topic of racism in film.  Just a bit more thought and research on people's motivations and reasons behind casting choices, statistics and such, would make this a far more constructive and intelligent argument.

This just means he joins George Lucas. Jango Fett and all the clone army were portrayed a Maori actor from New Zealand (which some PC idiot here in the states called a Hispanic). Oh and the evil trade federation guys were speaking with Japanese accents and don't get started about Jar-Jar.

This kind of crap doesn't deserve comment, much less discussion.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.
