LUM AND ABNER: TWO WEEKS TO LIVE (1943) - Never heard of these two comedians till I picked up a $1 DVD at Walmart. They are kinda like country comedians with lots of small jokes throughout the movie. The film is about an inheritance and combined notice that Lum has two weeks to live and the two old timers try to raise money while the inheritance is in the works while all types a zany things happen along the way. Nice little comedy.

Wow.  I used to listen to Lum and Abner on the radio in the car with my Dad.  Talk about an out-of-nowhere nostalgic moment....

I had no idea they made a movie.

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

This got me looking for info, I pass by the Jot'em Down Store and Museum in Pine Ridge, Arkansas occasionally. It's way out in the boonies.

I found The National Lum and Abner Society

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Ulthar they made a few movies according to imdb.com. Definately worth the $1 at Walmart.

Trek Geezer they are from Arkansas like yourself. My mothers side of the family came from Arkansas. Their name was Laudermilk and they lived in Augusta, Arkansas in the late 1800's.

Oppps......spelled the family name wrong it was Loudermilk from Arkansas. Only mention it because you are from Arkansas Trek Geezer.
