A little OT, but I was reading about Mickey Spillane, who is 88 this year, and who wrote his first novel, "I, the Jury" in 1946 and was of two years ago still writing. That makes seven decades in which he has had written at least one book: 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Not too many authors can say that.

Too make the subject a little less OT, his "Kiss Me Deadly" w/ Ralph Meeker ,as Mike Hammer, is regarded by many as being one of the greatest cult films ever made. And Mickey Spillane has played Mike Hammer himself in "The Girl Hunters."

Makes me think of golden-age SF writer and editor Frederik Pohl, who is still alive and writing at 86.
