Here is a live Ennio Morricone concert. Awesome..........created so much great music.

The Ecstasy of Gold

There will never be enough praise for Morricone for writing such wonderful scores for Sergio Leone.

And some of his more recent stuff, like "The Mission" or "The untouchables" is first class as well.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

THE MISSION (1986) is one of my top films. BLACK ROBE (1991) is also a good Jesuit missionary film.

Ironically enough, I hate "the Mission". Never liked the way Roland Joffe directs. There's something in his too-polished images that smells fake. Also hated "The killing fields", for the way it patronizes and ignores its only important Cambodian character, despite being one of the few (if not the only) mainstream movie about the Pol pot regime and the Cambodian genocide.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

THE KILLING FIELDS was kind of my introduction to the Cambodian genocide of the educated and others, for this reason I will remember THE KILLING FIELDS as a memorable film. For me it was more of an informative piece than a film. Even today you don't hear much about it. The new regime killed half the country.  I think the number was 7 million cambodians in the killing fields.

THE MISSION with Robert Deniro playing the mercenary/slave trader turned priest and William Dafoe as the other priest. Deniro attempts to right the outcome by fighting and Dafoe by religious devotion (non-volence). Plus you have the memorable music score..............

Didn't care much for THE MISSION as a movie either, but the soundtrack is awesome!!
