b It wasn't a wisecrack. I just like to joke about it,even though it's not funny at all. I AM an alchoholic, and drinking quit being "fun" a long time ago, but a good sense of humor helps wonders.  A toast to those who CAN drink-I'll stick to blood for now on(hehehehe)

One of the things I learned during my first thirteen months & three days of sobriety, was that my drinking wasn't really the problem. Of course, the four month bender that followed this discovery taught me that it wasn't the solution, eiither. For me, drinking was just one component to a much larger problem. I quit keeping score after that, because I realized that I was simply counting days, not recovering.

Let's just hope that it is a train moving a shipment of rope.  Then the terrorists are really in for it.  Think "Home Alone," but with less screaming and more use of rope (suspended weights, triplines, snares).

You could turn this into a movie, you know.

I've been teaching myself a few things lately. I've been making/selling jewelry (mostly earrings) for almost a year, and at this point I've only spent about twice as much money on supplies as I've made selling stuff. Is that a good business model or what?

I've also been taking massage therapy classes (anybody want to get nearly naked and have a fat, hairy old man rub 'em down with oil? :buggedout:) in order to give myself a portable career and finally move someplace that doesn't feel like the deepest pit of hell all summer (Mid-November - still 80 degrees Farenheit outside, and that's actually cooler than yesterday).

As for brewing my own beer, its something I find interesting (Same with mead and home hard cider).  But one of the foundations of my marriage is that I don't do anything hobbyish that is a) foul smelling b) would explode or c) involve home sausage making.
In the interest of pace in the home I decided to abide by this.   My one attempt at home coffee roasting was embarassing enough.  If you try this, DO IT OUTSIDE.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I have ADHD & Asperger's, so I never really *learn* anything, I just sorta pick up on it sooner or later. One of the things that I haven't picked up on yet, is that I'm one of those kindsa' folks who never learn.

I've been trying to re-teach myself how to write music.  I used to play piano back in the day, but that was in my early teens, so I've been revisiting styles lately.  Over the last two or so years I've been on and off attempting to learn how to use a music program known as Fruityloops and have only recently started to get the vague hang of it.  Sure, the sounds are more like 8 bit video game soundtracks, but it's fun to play around with if you sample the right thing!

Here are a couple of examples that I just recently uploaded.

The first uses some quotes from here actually, plus some I've gathered from elsewhere: It's called "The Tingler" and was my attempt at a bit of a B-movie/Vincent Price tribute.  It's almost a a year and a half old though.  I'm sure you'll figure out some of the lines [since it's not hard to guess.]  As another fun fact, part of the backing track is from a Hammer Horror soundtrack [I think, it's been a while so I can't remember which one]  I think it's from one of the ones with Frankenstien, Dracula and the Wolfman all in one [House of Frankenstien?] But I could be wrong...

I suppose the other that's sort of on topic is a remix attempt I made for some of Jeff Wayne's musical version of "War of the Worlds"

Please bear in mind that these were made for fun and I am in no way meaning to be ripping off or trying to breach Copyright!  Just fun I say!

But that's what I've been learning lately I suppose!

One of the things I'm trying to learn right now is RSA encryption.  I need to write some code dealing with credit card numbers and want to actually understanding the technique before trusting it.

Tonight, I learned the basic principal behind the jet engine, the sound barrier, & why the movie Pueblo Sin Suerte has a character named Cotton Mathers.

Oh I get them mixed up all the time.  All I know is that I had a "Best Of Hammer Horror" Soundtrack CD, House Of Frankenstien [I think] and another I keep forgetting the name of [can't find it right now to check, I have too much crap lying around] and some of the backing was from one of them, though I can't remember which one...

Everyone else is learning cool things, I am just learning *necessary* things.  I'm in college (28 year old freshman!  Go me!) and am taking Microbiology this semester.  Lecture is a little tiny bit dull, but lab is terribly fun!  I' m learning to grow colonies of organisms!

I'm trying to learn nunchucks, ever since seeing Deadbeat at Dawn they've intrigued me, it's also a good workout. I'm trying to also learn how to make songs using nothing but guitar taps (simliar to bands like Hella and Don Caballero), it's pretty hard.
