It had been far too long since I written about a classic kung fu film, so I am happy to say that "7 Grandmasters" is posted.  I am also happy to say that, as of today, the site is returning to a weekly update schedule.  It might not always be a review, because I have a couple of other ideas floating around, but my intent will be to update the website every week, usually on the weekend.

Of course, here is the Haiku for the topic film.

The other master standing on his shoulders and trying to strike him was funny. This looks like a quality "old school" martial arts film (The kind that I like to find).

Your question about how does a Kung Fu master retire is similiar to the gunslinger in Westerns.

What I always liked about Kung Fu films is how they train for the final battle which usually has something to do with revenge for the master teacher. They use all these exotic methods of training.

The Kung Fu genre is the toughest genre to figure out which is the best of the best in film. Would like to find a good book that really knows about "old school" Kung Fu films, so I know which to seek out.

Even if the "strike pause strike pause strike" fighting isn't realistic. It's still my favorite to watch. It actually allows you time to digest the movement and is visually good viewing. Sometimes better than a flurry (blurry) sequence of action.

Will keep an eye out for 7 GRANDMASTERS as it looks like a quality production from the 1970's Hong Kong.

This is a fun one; I waffled back and forth between a three and four slime rating.  Eventually, I just flipped a coin.

There used to be some martial arts focused websites.  There was one, I cannot remember its name, that was pretty darn good.  They had a good handle on reviewing the movies and had built up a nice database of films.  I believe that it went offline, which is a pity.

You also seem to have mastered Haiku Andrew.

Now I'm in the mood for a good 70's Kung Fu film.
