Listed are 33 Vincent Price films. Which is your favorite of this horror icon? Feel free to make note of any that you think should be up there.

I voted THEATRE of BLOOD as #1! Whatta great movie! Seems like the INVISABLE MAN RETURNS (1940) should be in there, being it was his 1st horror film (his appearance  in TOWER of LONDON ,w/Karloff and Rathbone does't really qualify.) I actually really enjoyed DR.GOLDFOOT and the BIKINI MACHINE!!!!

"The Abominable Dr. Phibes" has to be mine, though "Comedy of Terrors" is a lot of fun.  I mean, just look at the cast in the latter film and watch them ham it up.  It sure looks like they were having fun.  Most horror spoof movies these days are over the top splatter or "hey, it's stupid" like the "Scary Movie" franchise.  Not so when you have Vincent Price, drunk, singing about hitting babies with a hammer and Peter Lorre gazing with lovestruck eyes at that woman with her terrible screeching.

"The Last Man On Earth" is a good one too.  Its remake is good for kicks as an over the top 70's movie, but the first version is my favorite.

Only saw parts of  DR.GOLDFOOT AND THE BIKINI MACHINE on TCM or AMC one year. Always wanted to see the rest of the film.

Put THE INVISIBLE MAN RETURNS on the poll.

This was tough but I went with Last Man on Earth. I do love The Abominable Dr. Phibes and the sequel.

You don't list "Dragonwyck", which was a very interesting period piece for Price --
Set in post-Colonial New England, Price starts to gradually lose his mind & believe himself to be an old Dutch property-owner from the 1600's --
The final scene has him sitting in a throne-like chair in the middle of a highway, asking for "tribute" from all the passers-by.  Very sick and eerie --
Also, I'd give "The Tingler" major props --

I chose The Raven, it was one of those witchcraft/wizard type movies condemed by the Catholic Church so I had to sneak out to see the movie, that made it exceptionally good to see, I expected to see a scary film but was pleasantly surprised by what was aparently a comedy, had a lot of fun watching with my friends. Eventually my mom found out and acted like I was possesed by the devil himself, she took me to our pastor to be educated, he told me it was all make believe and that it was one of the funniest movies he'd ever seen, so while my mom thought I was getting a severe tongue lashing and maybe a little corporal punishment I was actually talking about the movie with another Vincent Price fan. If asked Father Hagen would say that it was his duty to see the movies so he could be aware of the evil influence of this type of movie (horror/ sci-fi) but I knew he was really just another bad movie fan like me. Sorry to be so long winded but I felt I had to explain why this film was so enjoyable for me.

My choices for #'S 2 & 3 would be The Abominable Doctor Phibes and Doctor Phibes Rises Again

I went with Fall of the House of Usher, though now that I think about it, I think The Pit and the Pendulum may have even been better.  Almost picked up The Bat at a 3 DVD's for $10 sale the other day, but my wife decided it was "too old".

I went with The Tingler just because I think it still holds up pretty well as a horror movie. And the one color scene is still kind of creepy. Yes, the "science" of the film is ridiculous, but it's still fun and scary. The Phibes films are enjoyable, but they are a little silly for me. Theatre of Blood is fun, as is Comedy of Terrors, but Tingler just works better for me. I haven't seen all of Price's films, but he is a favorite of mine, and he always adds a certain air of sophistication to his movies; I'm not sure who else could have ever made someone like Phibes work.

The Tingler for me. Though I think The Fly is a better overall film the Tingler is just so fun.

DRAGONWYCK sounds interesting. Never saw or heard of this film. Peter thanks for the title its now on  the Database Poll. This is why why a good databases on the webpage is helpful. It's direct information from knowledgable movie fans.

Just Plain Horse

I liked Price's performance in both The Fly and The Haunted Palace, but I gotta give it to House On Haunted Hill. Everybody in that movie got the parts just right. Praise be to William Castle.

Scott

Yea, I like THE HAUNTED PALACE also. It wasn't his best, but there was something about it that was appealing.

LilCerberus

You forgot I Go Pogo, a cartoon featuring only his voice, it's still amusing to me to hear Vincent Price using a phoney southern accent.

Nonetheless, I chose Theatre of Blood. Seeing Price as a gay hairstylist named 'Mother' is simply priceless.

I chose Comedy of Terrors myself.

A few mistakes - Dragonwyck is a non-horror film, the stylist's name was "Butch"
