I know Dr. Freaks (RIP?) said that when he reviewed Resident Evil for the PS1. But I think Dead Rising takes the reins. (Actually I think Resident Evil 2 easily became the next 'horror movie you play') What ever but the point is:Dead Rising is loads of fun to play!

The story begins when big balled photographer, Frank West, flies over the town of Willamette, Colorado. It looks like a riot is going on with people attacking and biting others. So Frank is dropped off on top of a mall (not kidding) and gives the pilot three days to return (or really six hours our time, so I've heard).

In a nutshell, you gotta go up against zombies, insane cultists, and who knows what that game had in store for me since I didn't finish it. Oh yeah, can't forgot about the occasional Psycho and SOB (boss battles.) While at the same time trying to rescue survivors and leading them to safety. Not just that but it was hinted that there's something more going on behind the scenes.

Here's a fun thing...EVERYTHING IS A WEAPON. From benches, to potted plants, to purses,Cd's,knifes, guns, and lawn movers. (Don't worry chainsaws and sledgehammers are there too)

Not just that but you pretty much do whatever you want, as long as you follow the basic story missions. So you could wear your ass out going after all those survivors (my style) or just go to different stores and try on sunglasses (yeah you can change clothing here) Plus you level up for doing stuff.

I had to return it but I hope I get it for Christmas.

Oh yeah the game's plenty creepy too, it's the physcos that really scare me.

Only problem is you gotta get a X-Box 360.

Least they're not $599.
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Fun game, though I didn't find any of it creepy or scary at all.  Very funny at times though, like wearing the lego helmet in the dramatic cut scenes.

It's pretty fun just running around doing whatever, and the scope and scale is quite impressive (one of a handful of next gen games I think could not have been done well on older systems).  For me though, it got old after a single playthrough (of course, I didn't own it, a friend did).  It's somewhat akin to a more free reign 3D Gauntlet than, say, Resident Evil.

I just bought an Xbox 360 a couple weeks ago.
I also picked up 5 games.

I got:
Call of Duty 3
Gears of War
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Perfect Dark Zero
Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion

I was going to buy Dead Rising until I watched the video review at Gamespot.com
I dislike games with crappy save systems and this is one game that definitely has a crappy save system.
That was the main thing that turned me off to it.
Also, it just doesn't seem like it has a lot of replay value.

That's not to say it doesn't look fun...it does.
I may rent it someday but I doubt that I would ever buy it.

(be sure to watch the video review too)

Out of all those games I bought, Call of Duty 3 is the only one I play religiously.
That game is awesome!
The multiplayer combat in it on Xbox Live is absolutely insane....leagues above any other WW2 first person shooter I've ever played.

By the way...those of you who have an Xbox 360 and play on Xbox Live...feel free to add me to your friends list.
My screen name is ASHTHECAT3.  (spelled exactly like that in all caps)
Even if we don't have the same games, we can still BS on the mics.
Hope to hear from you!
