Actually the xXx symbol, it's connected to me being what I consider to be straight-edge.

I see that xXx all the time in people's handles---I didn't realize there was a meaning behind it.

Yes there is a meaning..sXe gets used too - both relate to straight-edge. The "X" and the phrase "Straight Edge" (Actually it's from a song perfromed by the band Minor Threat) itself ties back to the hardcore punk scene in the 80s  (especially the bands Minor Threat and Teen Idles) when an X was marked on the back of hands of minors so they wouldn't get served alcohol...some adults also decided they didn't want alcohol either and used the symbol on their hands too so as to not get served it at concerts and it grew from there...for most it's a commitment not to put any poisons in their body at all. Of course there are differences between what people who follow this philosophy believe. For me, it's a commitment against consuming alcohol, smoking or ingesting drugs (Aside from prescribed medication, some even don't believe in taking that but that's too extreme for me) and a commitment against indulging in promiscuous sex. Some also tie it in with vegan, vegetarian and religious beliefs but well I don't. I don't believe in forcing it on others as I greatly believe in individual choice but others feel differently.
