Andrew

I had managed to bury my memories of that awful song.   My intent was to rip off the scab when I finally review the film (I am waiting for a DVD, but might finally give in and review it from the LD I own) and suffer through it one more time.  Thank you very much for applying the cheese grater and salt...

...gah, that song!

I did not even have to play the clip. Alll I had to see was the title of this thread and that song is now stuck in my head again.

Where shall I send my therapy bill? :teddyr:

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

So what's next?

"Save the Earth" from GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER?

:twirl:

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I'm sorry too. Your apology is NOT accepted.

You've forced me to do this:

The pathetic failure of a cute little crippled girl, a weird ukulele/banjo clone, and an inspirational song about a mushroom.

It's all on YOUR head...  :twirl:

Go ahead: Laugh, Children, Laugh!
I dare you.

(Wow, that "Save the Earth" is as obnoxious/hilarious as I remembered. We ran around singing that one for weeks. )

Andrew

Allow me to quote my review, specifically the bits in reference to this song:

44 mins - NOOOOOO! NOT A UKULELE SONG! ARRRGHHHH!

68 mins - NOOOO! IT'S THE UKULELE AGAIN! STOP! Something stop it! Yes, a big lizard! Eat him!

THE UKULELE SONG! ARRGHHHH!

Despite being full of scenes where a normal Gila Monster wanders through model railroad sets this film was okay. Until Chase pulls out the Ukulele, then things get ugly. I still cannot figure out how a song goes from discussing a sad mushroom to a spiritual. Both times the song appeared I whimpered until it went away.

Still, that song, that horrible song.

I was inspired to go back and reread your review of this one (!), and I'll probably pull this one out to rewatch it soon.

For some reason THE GIANT GILA MONSTER used to scare the scrap outta me when it would come on 'Shock Theater'.
Maybe it was that ukulele song!

FROM HELL IT CAME, THE SCREAMING SKULL, and FIRST MAN INTO SPACE used to scare the crap outta me, too.

All of a sudden it's like a rumble in here, with everyone whipping out their knives...or in this case, horrible movie songs. Either way, it still cuts you to your soul.

I might as well inflict some pain:
