Scott "The Foywonder" Foy called Creature Unknown things such as Creature Uneventful and Creature Uninspired in his review of the film. I'd say that's about the best way anyone could describe it. What we have here is what you'd get if you stuck The Big Freeze, Friday The 13th, and The Fly in a blender and put it on "suck".

Some typical troop of good-looking teenage buffoons return to the spot where one of them was thought to have died many years ealier. They don't get much of a chance to bond however, seeing as how they are being stalked by a murderous lizard man who seems to have something against them and Chase Masterson, who seems to know a lot about the monster. This could have made for a decent, character-driven monster mash. What we get instead is a poorly made borefest.

Honestly. There are scenes where the creature is just hanging around looking at people from ten feet away and those being watch almost never notice this freaky-looking thing staring at them from such a short distance. Its not even hiding very well, we can see it just sitting there with ease. It hardly ever makes any attempt to attack somebody until halfway through. The creature itself is very well made. It looks very cool and quite real. Too bad it was wasted on such a lackluster film.

There's not much I can say about the rest. Its either kind of bad or outright terrible. Poorly written, acted, and directed, Creature Unknown is. In the Making Of Featurette, everybody involved in making the film seemed like nice people who would be cool to hang out with, and were all clearly excited about the movie. It really is a shame none of the fun they had making the film got into the actual film, or this could've been a real blast.

Another thing about the Making Of Featurette: The writer admits he got the idea for the film from a bad coffee-induced hallucination that caused him to see freaky lizard people. I would much rather be freaked out seeing a bunch of lizard men running around than be bored watching just one run around here.

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
