Earth Planet?

Just read online that scientist know of a planet that may be similiar to Earth.

I've always found it odd that scientists insist all life to be like life on earth...and  not totally beyond anything we could even dream of. What  if there life systems require the inhale sulpheric gas? Or eat dirt? Or maybe they don't eat. Or breath. Maybe there balls of intelligent plasma? Life is out there,but I don't think we would most of it if recognize it if it bit us on the ass.
  It would be cool,though,if it was like Earth 2 in the comic books...where George Bush is intelligent,and TV is interesting....the only dead Ramone would be the drummer!  (No offence Tommy and Marky!)
