Tales is one of my favorite anthology films of all time.  I haven't seen Vault Of Horror in a loooong time but I do recall liking it for the most part.  I'll be picking up that DVD release very soon.

On an unrelated subject - Deadly Friend now has a DVD release.  I will certainly be ordering that very soon as well as the robot portions of the film scared the crap out of me when I was younger.

I need to see Deadly Friend in order to excise the fragments of the theme song stuck in my head.

I got The Fog (1980) for 5 bucks at Wal-Mart.  They've got a bunch of cheap 5 dollar films out for Halloween, even though a handful aren't horror flicks.  From off the top of my head here's what they had:

Alligator People
Pet Semetary 2
Night Shift
The Dead Zone
Frankenstein Unbound
The Legend of Hell House
Lifeboat
Friday the 13th
(parts 1-8 I think)
Breeders (1986)
House of the Damned
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Club Dread

There are a few more, but that's all I remember.

I ordered Weasels Rip My Flesh from Borders bookstore last night.  I have heard it is really bad; and I'm looking forward to it!

Good luck!  I've resisted the temptation to buy it so far.  I keep spotting it for really cheap and that's what tempts me.

PLANET OF DINOSAURS arrived in the mail yesterday - all I can say in short is that Retromedia's DVD absolutely blows.

Should be getting the YONGARY/KONGA disc in early next week.

Thanks for the Planet of Dinosaurs review!  Initially I was thrilled to hear about this DVD, but now I don't think I'll be buying it.

Man, that is a killer music haul.  I have Group Sex on a CD re-release and it's awesome.  Circle Jerks are one of those bands that seem to encompass an entire era in their music.  When I think 80s punk, I think Circle Jerks.

Silent Night, Bloody Night is a favorite of mine.   I picked up a copy of it in a DVD set for about .50 cents or so.  There is a lot of strangeness contained within the film, and I love the twist that they unveil towards the end.  Very underrated and overlooked slasher.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I watched the SILENT NIGHT,BLOODY NIGHT late last night...and it was defintly NOT what I expected! Thinking I had bought a standerd low budget slasher flik, I discovered a early'70's weird-ass film...full of bizzare twists and haunting madhouse scenes done in sepia tones...and the first killing came as a nice bloody surprize! A good movie-that is well worth more than a single veiwing!

The YONGARY/KONGA double feature disc from MGM arrived today.

KONGA is a terrible little film and I doubt that side of the dual sided/single layered flipper will be getting much use - as others around the web have stated, this is exactly the same as the individual release of KONGA a while back.

As for YONGARY - the menu design is atrocious and, aside from a variety of dub and subtitle options (the original Korean audio is apparently lost), the disc is bare bones.  But the print, my god, the print!  The new 2.35:1 transfer is utterly fantastic - with strong colors and contrast and little, if any, damage.

After the disappointment of the new PLANET OF DINOSAURS disc, this one is a real pick-me-up.

Kindest regards,

Kevin P.

I've got a soft spot for Konga. There is something about it I like. Maybe Michael Gough's spit-flying, over the top performance.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Just bought some films at Walmart. Spaghetti Westerns I believe. Heres a short film on my recent trip to Walmart.

Recently nabbed Canibal Ferox (VHS) and on a whim grabbed one called Silip. Don't know exactly why other than it looked bad. Has anyone ever seen that one? It only cost me 7$ so I shouldent be out either way

I just got hit with a triple whammy of:

Emanuelle and the last cannibals
Emanuelle in America
Emanuelle Around The World

I'm planning a series of reviews of them for my site.  All of them completely uncut, all of them completely sleazy and deeply troubling.  I can never seem to reconcile with the arousing beauty of Laura Gemser juxtaposed by Joe D'Amato's insistence of filling the scenes between her nudity with bestiality and brutal violence.  I guess I'd call the Black Emanuelle series pornography for misanthropes.
