ATO Records 2018 Sampler (not sure why picture won't display)

via noisetrade.com (lots of music, email required)

I love samplers, have found some new bands to investigate. Not sure there's a hit for me on this one, though. Alternative/indie music.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

We had another train wreck in my town this morning....
And while I'm on that thought, I'd like to dedicate this song to AOC on her train wreck!

RAVEL.  My favorite.  How is that?

Ravel - Gaspard de la nuit - Samson François 1958

SAMSON FRANCOIS... Rev, I think we've talked about him before.  I'm starting to enjoy his interpretations, the more I listen; his Gaspard de la Nuit is wonderfully personal.  And I know you know what a Perlemuter adherent I am.

My ear is really not good enough to detect who's the "better" or "best" interpreter. I know I like the Francois recordings I have. I'm sure I'd like Perlemuter too. I bet I couldn't tell the difference between them if you blindfolded me.

Try listening to one then the other.  It's not at all about "better" or "best".

Want to start exploring a little "trip hop," a subgenre I was aware of when it was going on but never really got into at the time.
