Since Thanksgiving is now past (burp), I've lifted the blanket ban on Christmas music.  The first thing the kids put on was Meowy Christmas by the Jingle cats.  It's every bit as excruciating as you think:  Sampled cat sounds "singing" carols.

Why's there a ban on Christmas Music?

I play it year round.

Yes I know that recording.  It's dreadful.

For one thing, I listen to JUNE CHRISTY's This Time Of Year all year long though it is a marvelous Christmas album.  I've plunked in a Classical Christmas CD in July when we're broiling...  :teddyr:
However, Nathan, I do understand the purpose of a "ban."  For one thing, the overplayed and the insufferable may be avoided (such as Meowy Christmas, or, for that matter any of NEIL DIAMOND's CHRISTMAS albums...)

Now listening to FATS WALLER The Joint Is Jumpin' 23 tracks, out of print, but undoubtedly essential:

I like Neil.
Granted I'm no where near his intended audience though.
