What have you been listening to?

Now that looks interesting, Nathan... went over to Amazon and listened to samples (it's in my cart.)  I hear a lot of surface noise, which doesn't bother me, not being an audiophile.  What do you think? 
After pausing to listen to those samples, I'm back listening to this:

BUDDY MILES appears on Electric Ladyland, but was not a member of THE EXPERIENCE; MITCH MILLER was the EXPERIENCE drummer, and MILES the BAND OF GYPSIES drummer JIMI decided he preferred... (or who would put up with the master).   

Yeah, but sadly, ELECTRIC LADYLAND is the only Hendrix I own -- so it was that, make a quick trip to the music store, or nothing.

Surface noise doesn't bother me; it sounds like the medium in which you would have heard it first anyway.

Having a windup victrola and too many 78s now, and having grown up playing LPs and 45s, surface noise I can deal with.  However, many of my CDs taken from very old disc recordings have been cleaned up.
