Chris Barber Presents The Blues Legacy: Lost & Found Series (3 Vols.)

Featuring live performances by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Muddey Waters & Otis Spann, Louis Jordan, Sonny Boy Williamson, Jimmy Witherspoon, and Howlin' Wolf.  Great lineup, good to great performances, but the sound quality leaves something to be desired.

Sample: When the Saints Go Marchin' In (Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee)

Quite.  I think Nick Barker took all the talent in that band with him when he left for Dimmu Borgir.

I've been listening to a lot of Aeternus, Absu, and Dark Fortress by way of black metal lately.  If you can find it, track down a copy of "Ad Perpetuam Rei Memoriam" by Perpetual.  Black/thrash crossover with some progginess thrown in for good measure. I think you'd dig it.

Exodus ("Atrocity Exhibition" and "Let There Be Blood") and Amon Amarth's "Twilight of the Thunder God" have been spending a lot of time in my CD player.  Also in my carrying case are:
Moonsorrow - "Verisakeet"
Kamelot - "Ghost Opera"
Tomahawk - "Mit Gas"
Yyrkoon - "Unhealthy Opera"
Valiance - "Wayfaring"
Odroerir - "Gotterlieder"
King's X - "XV"
Hollenthon - "Magnum Opus"
Zeni Geva w/Steve Albini - "All Right You Little Bastards"
There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.
    - Rob Zombie
Rape is just cause for murdering.
    - Strapping Young Lad
