We could definitely spend an afternoon listening to each other's music... or have a play-off "battle of the bands" flipping your records/my records on/off.

I am a big fan of the Passacaglia... one of the greatest pieces of music for me.  I used to listen to BACH organ works a lot in the 1980s... I had a ton on vinyl... I had made some cassette tapes from them, but not even sure if I still have those.

"Symphony No. 1/Quintet for winds/Suite for wind quintet" by Finn Mortensen.  I think I am Finn's only listener outside of Norway.

Mahler's 10th performed by the BBC orchestra.  No album cover, unfortunately, but this is one of only a handful of recorded performances of this piece.  The score was unfinished at Mahler's death and fleshed out by a student.  It's still amazing music.

Time Life GOLDEN AGE OF COUNTRY

This is an addictive set if you like classic Country music.  MARTY ROBBINS, MERLE HAGGARD, WILLIE NELSON, TAMMY WYNETTE, TEX RITTER, DON GIBSON, JIM REEVES, PORTER WAGONER, JOHNNY CASH, LORETTA LYNN, THE STATLER BROTHERS, GEORGE JONES, BUCK OWENS, and artists I didn't need 'cause I have 'em like ELVIS, or PATSY CLINE, EVERLY BROTHERS, HANK WILLIAMS... (and JERRY LEE LEWIS who I don't need 'cause I can't stand him) the list goes on... a superb collection!!  I got it used off ebay for about 50 bucks less than it sells for new...  :teddyr:

Jerry Lee is prime stuff.  Mind you, I'm just talking musically.  I don't support the man's personal life.

I recognize he is an important, worthwhile artist from the first class of Rock 'n' Rollers... I still don't like him or his music.

There's so much here to enjoy, so again:
Time Life GOLDEN AGE OF COUNTRY

Having less Country in my own collection than most other types of music (except Hip Hop, and World Music) this collection is a real treat!!    :hot:
