Ain't it always the way?  At least I got to see STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN about three weeks before he was killed...  :bluesad:  


KEN BURNS JAZZ  Though criticism of this set is apparent... for me, it's a great overview, or a Jazz primer, but hardly comprehensive over 5 CDs.  Most of the icons are represented with expected recordings.  It's not geared towards sophisticates who have delved deep (take any six artists off this set and you could spend a lifetime listening to just their recordings).   EDIT: I must point out that the annotation is wrong on this 20+ year old collection.

 

FUNKADELIC Maggot Brain   I think Rev turned me on to finally listening to this one.  Of course I now own a copy.

A band called PEACEMAKER sent me their debut album Concrete & Terror to review on my blog. Their lead vocalist was in Metal Church for a good chunk of the early 00s and he's also toured with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Cool, crunchy old school metal, for fans of latter-day Accept and Judas Priest.
