Elder Scrolls IV is the one reason I want an XBox 360. Well, that and the upcoming Halo 3. The problem is, I have so little free time as it is, and a game like Elder Scrolls will pretty much suck up what I do have...and that makes the wife annoyed. :teddyr: I also want a Wii for the latest Zelda game. PS3 can wait. I'd rather have the other two systems first.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Did somebody mention the 3DO?  Man, I keep getting the itch to find one used so I can then go hunt down a copy of "Star Control II" for it.  That game ate a lot of my time way back when.  Well, that and "Panzer General," but "Panzer General" cheats.

I remember a friend of mine bought a 3DO back in the day when I was telling him that he was wasting his money.

He also had bought an Atari Jaguar as well when I told him not to buy one.

Well, live and learn.

The only system I kind of made a mistake of getting was the Sega Saturn but even that system had some great games.

I have a Wii. I love it, but so far, its only good for Nintendo exlusives. 3rd party games are often sloppy and difficult as far as the controls go, Like Spiderman 3 and Marvel Ultimate Aliance. I work at a game store and our PS3 breaks down all the time.

I don't like the idea of buying a console system just for a game, but come October when GRAND THEFT AUTO IV is released...Of course, I'll get other games, but GTA4 is the biggie for me.  No other game series has meant as much to me as that sweet little saga.  The designers are so clearly awake to pop culture in all it's mindless inescapability(perhaps why I love FUTURAMA so much as well) the games are wall-to-wall gags.  The radio stations are brilliant, the ads constantly pushing the bounds of taste with a cleverness almost entirely absent from video games.

I have to upgrade from the PS2 at some point and up until this past winter I would have been prepared to stick with Sony, but they blew it.  I'm no electronic gaming guru, but I know when a company drops the ball and squanders all the goodwill it's loyal customers have.

I will be going to the XBOX 360...I've actually been honing my skills with that unctious controller by playing at a friends house as often as possible(Research!...yeah, that's what it is..Research!).

btw, I don't know is anyone else here digs the GRAND THEFT AUTOs but here's a decent YouTube of the teaser for the next one.  While teasers are usually just pretty picture promotion, and video game teasers are notorious for using cut-scene/opening movie footage rather than gameplay, this one really strikes a chord...I mean Philip Glass?  KOYAANISAQATSI?  These guys know just how cultured their fans can be...

I've got ESIV: Oblivion for the PC.  Its graphics are awesome and the combat action is way better than ESIII, but the storyline of the main quest isn't as much fun as the main quests of Morrowind and its expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon.  I will tell you this - Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood quest lines are AWESOME!

Hope you get it soon!

I'm wondering if one version of GTA4 will look better than the other. I guess that'll finally show which system (the 360 or PS3) is the graphically superior console.

So it looks like Microsoft is on its way to losing a billion of it's own thanks to it's extended warranty and repair program for all those "red light of death" 360 units out there. Unlike Sony who lost their money because they had too much faith in an over-priced grill, at least Microsoft is attempting to appease their customers by owning up to a screw up and making things right... not that this is going to make their accountants any happier. Between both of their major competitors taking a monster shot in the proverbial wallet, Nintendos looking more and more the winner of this part of the war.  :tongueout:

I have a Wii as well.  As for 3rd party games, yeah, they're having trouble adjusting to the Wii's unique control scheme, as I expected, but I'm sure they'll get the hang of it at some point.  Resident Evil 4: Wii edition, however, is great!  I've always sucked at aiming a weapon with an analog stick, so being able to point and shoot with the Wii remote is a welcome relief from all that...plus it's a lot easier to score head shots.   :teddyr:   I think Nintendo should convince Sega to make a new House of The Dead game for the Wii too.

But they can't rest on their laurels right now, just because their console sales are high...Metroid Prime is supposedly due out next month, and if they delay it yet again, people are gonna think "Oh, There's old Nintendo again, not giving us any big titles until christmas".

As for the PS3...I'm sure I'll get one someday, but again, it all comes down to price, and games.

Also, Blu Ray = Betamax .  That is all.

Well, the latest reports are that the PS3 is actually starting to gain again.  They announced a 100 dollar price drop and sales are up 135%.  That's not all that much considering how low sales were to begin with, but it's a start.

Word is that the Xbox360 might also see a price drop around the same time that Madden will be released.  So that would put the 360 at right around 300 or so which should boost their sales.  When the 360's price hits about 250 then I'll buy one without hesitation.

The price drop is in effect until the 60GB units (I think that was the one, maybe 40GB) are sold out then back to regular price.  At least that's what I have learned.
