I installed a mod that allows you to post YouTube videos with the video preview.  To do so, just click the YouTube button (on the button bar, just above the smileys).  That will insert two tags, like this:

[youtube=425,350]

Put your YouTube URL between the tags, like this:

[youtube=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPhDhhLFtyw

You will get this:

I totally dig this Youtube mod for the forum.  :thumbup:

It'll add a whole new spin on things here.

I think it's a good feature because it makes the threads more fun, you have a sort of visual vs just a link. Plus a lot of people may have popups disabled and have to adjust their settings whenever opening up other IE windows.

Andrew

How did I know that you two would get a real kick out of it?

:twirl:

The only reason I had the full YouTube links function disabled is that they use Flash and that is identified as a possible security concern.  What was really disabled is embedded Flash.  The modification does not enable Flash, it sets it up so that someone can post a YouTube link and the system will make the link work.  The idea is to give the functionality for YouTube, but avoid the security hole.

For some reason I can't get the videos to work: It's as if they are just pictures, not links/embedded videos.  Is that just me? [I use Mozilla btw, haven't tried on IE]

They are working correctly under Firefox and IE for me.  Since they are Flash objects, is Flash working correctly for you?  Perhaps trying some videos on YouTube itself?

Normal youtube works fine for me, but on a side note my computer seems to be acting up a bit [seems like I'm under attack slightly here and can't play windows media player and some other sources at the moment.]

I'll give the old computer a bit of a once over and check back with it later.

But I suppose it's a blessing in disguise: I'm sure Ash and Susan were looking to inflict maximum pain with their youtube collections...

So after a Firefox update and whatnot, it seems, to my utter misfortune, that I can now watch the videos above...

Thanks alot, now I'm going to be singing stupid snack songs all night.  Betterment my ass...

Anybody having trouble playing the videos, update your FireFox to the latest version. FireFox 1.5 has trouble with the mod.

Maybe it's just me, maybe sleep deprivation makes it even funnier, but I L'd MAO at Susan's video post.
The Stooges are funny to begin with, but I think that going into my 36th hour with MAYBE 3 good hours sleep just seemed to make it funnier
