What Movie Is This? (Man Eats Flower Petals)

I watched The Golden Child the other night.
Remember how the kid eats leaves off that little stem to sustain himself?

Well, when I watched that scene, it reminded me of a scene in another movie where a guy keeps eating flower petals.
He just keeps eating them and eating them.  One right after the other.

It would have been an 80's or 90's film.

Anyone know what movie that is?

Andrew

The only two that I can think of with flower eating are "Barbarella" and the original "Little Shop of Horrors."  Both are too far back for your 80's or 90's time period.

There was a remake of "The Little Shop of Horrors in '86. That was in color, unlike the original.

Could the movie have featured Rick Morranis, Steve Martin or Bill Murray?

I can't remember what the movie was about and I can't think of who acted in it.
I just remember that one scene of a guy eating flower petals.

For some reason, I keep thinking it's a guy pulling petals off a flower saying, "She loves me."  She loves me not." and eating each one.

Not 100% on that though.

I don't remember a flower-eating character from that one, was there?  It might be time for me to watch the remake again.

There's no possible way you could be thinking of the end of Batman and Robin, is there? A scene with Ivy locked up in Arkham, eating flower petals and saying "He loves me, he loves me not..." meaning Mr. Freeze. I know you said it was a guy, but you might be confusing two or more films.

Nope, its not the musical remake of "Little Shop of Horrors." No petal-eating in that one.

Fando y Lis (dir. by Jodorowsky, play by Arrabal) starts with a scene like that, but is a girl with short blonde hair just eating flower petals...and it´s from the 60´s or 70´s in black and white.

So,i don´t think it might be the one, but just in case.

It is not from the 70's or 80's but there is a character in Monsoon Wedding that is constantly eating flower petals.

VEEEEERY long shot, but in "Bird" Charlie Parker eats a flower that was tossed to him after a performance.

This is a little older than you specified, but I think its worth checking out:

The Gardener (A.K.A. Seeds of Evil), 1975?

I haven't seen this movie in a *long* time, but this could be Cemetary Man. It's an artsy, foreign film with a handsome undertaker who is making every effort to bury the dead, but they keep springing back up again. There's a character who is "uncle fester" like, and I think he's doing the "she loves me/loves me not" bit.

So far, none of your suggestions ring a bell.

Could it be a colorized version of the original Little Shop of Horrors?
Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.
