This is probably one of the funniest action films that I have ever seen. The movie is about a squad of soldiers who try to steal a bunch of Nazi gold hidden 30 miles behind enemy lines and the troubles they have getting to it. It stars Clint Eastwood, Terry Savalas and Donald Sutherland to name a few. The nice thing about this movie is that no one character steals the spotlight as in so many of Clint Eastwood's movies(which isn't always a bad thing). I'd give it a 8/10.

So anyone else seen this movie/want to write a review on it?

It's a fun movie...but the inclusion of Donald Sutherlands hippy guy seemed all wrong for a movie about WWII. And the folk-rock soundtrack was outta place as well. Telly Savalas is always a treat!!!

KELLY'S HEROS is a classic - a very fun film.

I really liked how the "idea" started out small, and grew and grew, until it seemed like everyone an their uncle in the Allies were on board.

Great concept for a movie, great execution.

The Burgomaster

I have watched (and enjoyed) this movie many times.  I agree that Donald Sutherland's character is out of place.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

I thought Sutherland's character was a little out of place but still funny.

The Burgomaster

Don Rickles was pretty funny, too.  He was perfect for that role.

I like the Leone showdown takeoff with the tank!

My favorite part was where oddball was persuading the engineer to build the bridge for them.

Neville

A classic. There are many jokes I'm not sure I'm getting, such as the general at the end who seems a parody of Patton, but it's a very entertainning film, and it blends well pretty serious action (that ambush to the German patrol is great, as it is the final attack on the Tigers) with humour. the actors alone are great to watch, from the always staring in disbelief Eastwood to the "hippy" Sutherland or the "are you sure this is going to come together" Telly Savalas.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Scott

I like how they talk the German tank commander into blowing up the bank and share in the loot. It you like this film you might also like THE THREE KINGS which takes place in Iraq.

Never saw the three kings before I'll have to watch it sometime

Neville

It's, among several other things, an unconfessed remake of this one.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

The popularity and relevance of KELLY'S HEROS pops up in all sorts of places.

Over on Renegade-Cruisers.net, one user was trashing a particular type of boat.

Be sure to read into page 4 of the thread - there's a BUNCH of KELLY'S HEROS quotes, and they are not just cut-n-pasted from IMDB; this guy knows the movie!  :)

Amontillado

I used to hate this movie because my brother would watch it ALL THE TIME!!

Yeah, this movie has truly been ingrained into my existance. So many quotes from this film have been forever added to my lexicon. Whenever someone says something obvious, I'm always quick to say that they've won a cookie. Whenever someone's whining I always clock in with "Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves." Or just when I don't know what to say, you'll find me break out with "Woof, woof, woof, that's my other dog impression."

So, you get older. You start to watch all those movies you hated because you saw them too much. Then you realize why your dumbass brother watched them as much as he did. Other movies in this category are The Great Escape, Von Ryan's Escape (the only movie that made my brother cry), and The Guns of Navarone (The Specials made me revisit that one in high school, Escape and Express I revisited in college). So all four of the aforementioned movies hold a place in my heart of being four of the movies I love to hate but love the most.

If I can build and install a pacemaker in this man\'s chest, I can damn well bouce a microwave off a satellite!

Forget Three Kings.. This is A Hell of A GREAT movie!

How many time have I told You To Stop Putting Out Those Negative Waves.
And when he shall die
Take him and cut him into little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.
