I don't recall where I read it, but a study showed that the average American receives more news information in 1 day than an American in 1900 received in  an entire year.

I don't really think things are worse now than they have been in the past on a per capita bases, it just that regardless of where you are at, you hear about every little fart someone lets. It's information overload.

The planet is definitely over populated. The simple life is better. All the Einstein's and the so called "go getter's" may just do us all in eventually. What does all our current human activity mean? Absolutely nothing. It has no purpose. A bunch of individuals doing nothing.

The World needs a goal.

I love all the psycho-babble BS being spit out by experts about raising kids. There is no big secret, kids are people and need to be treated with the same dignity and respect as anyone else. Kids learn by example, which means if you're a a***ole you're kids more likely to be one. I hate hearing parents telling their kids to shut up when they have an opinion to express.

There are  lot of good kids out there and some bad ones, but like most here have said they're only doing what we did when we their age, establishing their independence.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.
