I honestly can't remember exactly where I first heard of this other, other then that my jaw just about hit the floor when I red the title. DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS is a real, honest-to-god motion picture made in the 70s that apperantly never got released until 2003. Apperantly it is also one on the most bizarre films ever made.

Here's what Bleeding Skull has to say about it.

I put it on my Netflix que. I just can't let something like this pass me by. I'm a sucker for off-the-wall cinema.

So... Has anyone here seen Death Bed? Has anyone here even heard of Death Bed?

Yes, I have heard of this movie and now that I've poked around on the web, I think I must buy the thing!
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

All right I'm official curious now.

Where can I buy this?
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Amazon. There's about 8 DVD copies there. I'm sure you could find it on eBay, too. I also saw a couple copies at HMV.

Wow, for such an obscure movie, Death Bed sure did get a wide rerelease.

Oh man...
This one looks awful!

I found this clip from the film...it's hilarious!
The bed uses killer foam to dissolve stuff.
You even get to see inside the bed's "stomach"!

...And all that did was make me want to see it even more.

For some reason, the owner of the video I posted above doesn't allow video embedding.
After you click PLAY and the notification comes up, just click on the video again and it'll pop up in a new window or tab so you can watch it.

I saw some compilation tape on VHS that has a bunch of clips from 70's early 80's horror flicks and they had a segment from Death Bed on there.

I didn't know they hadn't released it yet until 2003.

Patton Oswalt, on his new comedy CD Werewolves and Lollipops, has an extended bit on this movie.  If you like comedy that's "a little blue", I recommend checking it out.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Just saw a completely different movie called "Death Bed", so I was a little confused until I read this post. Friend of mine bought a double feature DVD of it and "Castle Freak" and we watched it. We thought "Death Bed" was going to be a short (should have been), so it we only watched the begining of "Castle Freak" before calling it a night (It looked good, but for some reason we didn't get together the next week, then I got bitten on both hands by a feral cat, it got infected and I had to go to the hospital. So that's why I haven't seen "Castle Freak" yet. Out of the hospital, in good enough shape to type, but still staying home and taking antibiotics for about a week). Anyway, "Death Bed" was just a haunted bed story, padded out to feature length with "is this about to turn into a softcore porn" scenes, and featuring a lesser Estivez/Sheen as the landlord.

i have seen ' death bed: the bed that eats.'

its definately something; it takes it self so seriously, and the narrator who lives behind the painting, the intricacies of the absurd plot and backstory that he narrates, the slow pacing, all throw it from a cheeky movie about a killer bed into 'wtf did i just watch' land. It would actually be creepy if it wasn't so absurd. id recommend it.

this was sort of like jean rollins "requiem for a Vampire"  meets attack of the killer tomatoes.  or a subtler "rat pfink a boo boo".  or maybe an indonesian horror with weird iconography that you don't know about.

I just threw down on this last night. It is an odd-duck. I can't really say that it's a bad film other than the whole plot, but for how budget it was and the director and writer having NO experience it's really not bad....just very weird. Think 70's Italian weird but then realize it was a guy from Michigan who made it. I say it's a do.

The whole movie is on youtube here:
