The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

As I've maintained, this film traumatized me as a child.  The idea of an amorphous monster that can easily enter a locked room and then slowly dissolve you is terrifying.  Oh, and if you scream from the pain of being dissolved, you will find yourself choking on Blob as its digestive acids burn into your throat.

Poking any meteor from outer space will be accomplished with a regulation ten-foot pole, thank you very much (and I'll be ready to drop it immediately, should the thing being poke begin to travel up the pole).

You know, I've seen two other non-Blob films where someone pokes something with a stick and pays the price: In Toho's "Space Amoeba," Kenji Sahara's character, Makoto Obata, pokes at the titular space creature with a stick. It soon engulfs his body, invades his mind, and takes control of him. A similar situation occurs in "Slither" when Grant Grant (Michael Rooker) pokes a slug-like creature with a stick and gets hit with a mutation-causing "harpoon" for being an annoyance. Sheesh, you'd think that after the Blob came out, people would realize that you shouldn't poke anything strange with a stick, including "meteor s**t."  TeddyR
