I really liked The Host.  I loved CGI work that The Orphanage did with the creature.  It was a nice twist on the classic monsters and was quite frightening.

I loved the family in the film.  As everyone else has said, they are dysfunctional and that's what I loved best about them.  They aren't the normal family, they aren't perfect, they just want the little girl back more than anything and they will do anything to get her back.  It's rare to see that kind of character departure in a film such as this. 

Sure the ending does go a bit off track, but I can forgive it as the rest of the film is superb.  If you did see it with dubbing then go back and watch it with subtitles as I'm sure that a lot is lost in the dubbing.
