RETURN OF THE JEDI (arcade game)
This game got really hard at times when you were trying to avoid crashing, especially coming back from the death star.  I did like how you got to play as Leia and Lando/Han Solo.

Lately I've been playing Gothic and Assassin's Creed II (on 360).

I started out utterly hating Gothic, but the game has grown on me now that I can actually kill things. Its combat system is quite wonky, but is manageable once you've gotten the hang of it. As of right now, I'm about to finish chapter 1 and join the Old Camp. A bit cliche, I know, but I'm not fond of either the New Camp or the Sect Camp.  One sounds too lax and the other sounds bats**t crazy.

I'm surprised thus far with Assassin's Creed II. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, and thus dragged my feet on the sequels. I've been told repeatedly that the second one was awesome and that I should definitely pick it up. So far, I'm not regretting it like I regretted playing the first one.  There's more variety this time around, and the combat system is vastly improved.

My only complaint so far is that some of the missions I've encountered were quite boring. Then again, I'm still pretty early in the campaign.

Got a copy of Showdown: Legends of Wrestling from Amazon, it just arrived in the mail today. Used to rent it all the time last decade but never owned it until now. It has the largest roster in a wrestling game at the time (73 including playable managers) and a decent selection of classic arenas. Sadly it's somewhat buggy, but the overall nostalgia more than makes up for it, to me.

Trying to beat Dark Souls now.  At Gwyn but don't have much time to play and having trouble finding an effective strategy.  Also, kicking myself in the ass for killing the blacksmiths.

Has anyone seen GOG.com signed Disney/Lucas Arts?  Have been waiting for a digital release of X-Wing and TIE Fighter.
Ah, the good old days.

I have pretty much done all I can possibly do with Skyrim. I also "finished" Grand Theft Auto V; the game, like Skyrim, doesn't really have an ending as it continues after the credits are done rolling. I am dabbling a bit more with Assassins Creed 2, trying to finish it before I move on to the other games and Assassins Creed 3. I have also been playing Minecraft a lot more.

Other than that, my daily dose of NHL 14 has been keeping me hooked. I don't bother with NHL 15 because 14 has more features.
First rule is, 'The laws of Germany'
Second rule is, 'Be nice to mommy'
Third rule is, 'Don't talk to commies'
Fourth rule is, 'Eat kosher salamis'

COMMANDO (Capcom, 1985)
Old classic vertically scrolling military shoot-em-up.  Very hard to play without a joystick!
I kinda prefer the NES port, since there are hidden underground bonus areas not seen in the arcade version.

Huh... Most people I know hate the NES port.

Commando was one of those games they had at the local bowling alley and therefore I got really good at. Rush'n Attack one of the dumbest named games ever was another good war one.

"Rush 'N Attack" always makes me think of the Cold War.  Funny you mention that one; I'm doing a YouTube video review of that one next.

Gwyn is easier if you summon someone to distract him. But yeah killing the Merchants is a stupid thing to do.
