A Masterpiece of Low Expectations

Godzilla Finals Wars could have been so much better if the fights were extended between the kaiju.  Instead we have a lot of Matrix ripoff scenes with motorcycles and the like.  Still a fun watch though.
Black Sheep was a superb movie.  It just goes to show that a good looking puppet can be more realistic looking that CGI.  The worst CGI I've even seen has to be Dinocroc or Crocodile.  Interestingly they are both SciFi originals.  Huh...

The CG Zords in the Power Rangers movie are starting to look pretty naff now. Interesting how they originally blew our minds and now the Japanese men in suits in the TV show look better.

Really? I loved the Zords in that movie!

That reminds me of Deep Blue Sea, where the animatronic sharks looked way better than the CGI sharks.

Has anyone mentioned that horrible looking space monkey thing in the Lost in Space movie?

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Shark Attack 3 is so brilliantly bad -- Seek out the older threads on this here board about it all -- I think we were chatting about that sometime in July?
Anyway, that isn't bad CGI -- That's bad superimposing!!  They take footage of real sharks & then superimpose the image of people in rafts or on skidoos riding into the shark's mouth.
That's a whole 'nuther level of stinkery --

Flowers and garlands to you all! . . .
Back on board from home --
I took "Kraken" over to friends for Thanksgiving.
At first, quite skeptical that this would be a nadir moment for BAD CGI, but as soon as they saw the anti-squid trying to suck one of the heroes out of the shipwreck, they were laughingly sold!!
Check it out . . . if you dare!!:

You cannot imagine how poor these effects are . . .

Has anyone mentioned Spawn yet? .......Poor Spawn.

"I'm a man too, you know! I go pee-pee standing up!"

Spawn's CG varies in quality throughout the movie, from decent to bad.  So does the recent "The Mist" actually.

On a side note, I think if a Megalodon actually ate a small raft and a skidoo, it would probably actually die from it over time.  It'd clog its insides, and the gasoline and metal would kill it if its innards actually crushed it.  I know, I know, logic in a movie like that...

peter johnson

Jim H:
Stop with this "logic" stuff already!!
"Logic" can completely ruin the Badmovies experience -- unless it's employed in some sort of Deconstructionist thang, eg.: How many Ymirs being poked by how many sticks could power how many generators, etc.
Otherwise, you're faced with the classic dilemma faced by a friend of mine from 30 years ago, who, upon watching an old "Hercules vs. Somethingorother" film wherein a giant spider attacks Hercules . . . "Man . . . Why doesn't he just cut the strings?" . . .
* * *
Logic, in Badmoviesworld, has purpose only for amusement.  Otherwise, a Dead Enid . . .

And Why does the CGI in Jurassic Park 1993.
Look better than most CGI in the movies today?
And when he shall die
Take him and cut him into little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.

El Dogo

I haven't seen a lot of the super terrible CGI stuff, probably because I have zero interest in giant snake movies and Sci-Fi Channel originals.  But the most disorientingly terrible CGI I remember seeing was the escaped crocodile in Eraser.  That didn't just yank me out of the movie, I think it yanked me off the planet.
