Slimo! Slimo! Slimo!

« on: December 26, 2007, 11:15:56 PM »

The way TV's going with all the new technology, I suspect that someday all advertising will be built right into the shows via product plugs and that we'll see an end to the interruptions once and for all. Still, there's something to be said for the folks who made those interruptions bearable by actually coming up with something clever and memorable to put in those ads.

Since we've already got threads on the best music videos, I say why not one for the ads? Most of the best ads tend to use humor to sell the product, of course, but horror can be good too. Here's a favorite of mine that employs a little of both:

Small | Large

So, how about it, people? What are your favorites?

I get a kick out of those "priceless pep talks with Peyton Manning" commercials.  My favorite (well, I think there are only two of them), is the one that goes:  "So, you want rock hard abs?  Well, let me tell you.  If you're not under the age of 23, or a professional football player, it's probably just not gonna happen.  If I were you, I'd just buy some larger shirts."

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
