Random favor to ask of any gamers reading this: in an effort to avoid spoiling things while I wait for the new Smash Bros. game to come out (one more month... *twitch*twitch*), I've stopped reading info about the game on the internet. It's taking everything I can muster NOT to look at the game's final roster at wii.ign.com, but if someone could please go to the page for me, scroll down to the lower half under the RSS feed listings, click on the article with the graphic of the 3 questions marks to the left of it and just let me know the number of characters available in the game's final roster (but not who is listed), I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

Going by the final character select screen, looks like 35.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

OK. Here goes. ...

When I was a little kid,me and my brother Mike were walking down a dirt road and found a dead snake. Mike hooked it onto a stick and stuck it into some farmers mail box. He closed it and put the little red flag up. He thought that was hilaarously funny.

About 1989, I had just got home from work, walked into my apartment, closed the door, and a light bulb dropped from the ceiling right in front of me.There were no shelves, tables, or closets around for it to have fallen from. I looked atthe light fixture above me.Ther was a single bulb in it's single socket.I picked up the bulb off the floor. It didn't explde, disappear,or turn into a grinning skull. It was just a light bulb.

I read a news paper account (I believe in a Chartles Fort book) of two men standing on a street corner in London-when a large dog ran up to them and said "HELLO!" , then vanished in a green vapor (!). And once I found a dead, full grown rat in a narrow necked  wine bottle while poking around in a junk yard.

A couple years back Channel 3 News out of Kalamazoo,Michigan, ran a video tape of UFO's buzzing over the city. Bigfoot was seen at Sister Lakes.
Lions and apes are are reported running around major cities and vanishing,as quick as they arrived.

Aliens, sea monsters, flying cats, people long dead, flying pots and pans.People leaving for work on the bus and never to be seen again. An electric battery, rotting in an ancient tomb.

Once, when I was a little kid I was running across a field, where my brother Mike was standing on the other end.Out of the corner of my eye I saaw a girl, with glasses and pig tails, wearing a summer dress, running along side me.I stopped to say 'Hi" and she was gone. When I got up to Mike,he said-"Where'd that girl go?"

Well, now that BELA has responded, I feel I should.  His thoughts are both poetic and lyric, strangely haunting, and absurd...  I'm hooked!
When I was very young my father installed our mother and the four of us in his brother's hotel in Spring Lake, NJ (there were five, but my older brother was on his own by then).  We used to run around that huge place, climb up on a roof that today I would find staggering, and I once climbed into a window box seat in order to scare my siblings during a game of Hide-and-Seek.  I got in and very distinctly heard sounds of a woman weeping.  Frightened, I jumped out right quick, but there wasn't anybody there.

BELA's post reminds me of a friend I had had, over 40 years ago, his name was Steven, I met him climbing the tree very near the house we had lived in even before Spring Lake.  I have often wondered what became of my friend Steven.

You know...this a theory of mine.
When we are young...we are more atune to the mysteries of life and nature...as we age...we grow more "mature"...and loose alot of our born knowledge. We are taught that it's all nonsense. Are skins harden to  the true wonders of the world. The little mysteries of every day life. We forget what it is like to believe that the univerese was not made by us,or created only  for us.

There is more going on then we can not even begin to understand. And THAT is what makes , for me at least, the workings of politics and the superficial BS of the everyday world tolerable.

I like to swim, but I've come to realize lately that I don't like to stick my head underwater, and that's unusual.  I mean, a lot of swimmers (probably most) will dive under water, swim around, and then come back to the surface and not think anything of it.

I guess I don't like it mainly because I'm asthmatic, and ANYTHING that keeps me from breathing freely makes me REAL damn nervous.  Plus I can't hold my breathe too long/

I have managed, though, to get over the fear of being in water over my head, so long as there's a pool wall nearby, although I don't care much for jumping INTO water over my head, those few seconds under feel like an eternity.

Maybe someday I'll work on overcoming that...

Everyone has read or been exposed to the Disney version of damn near everything --
Disney Mary Poppins
Disney Dr. Doolittle
Disney Winney the Pooh --
Nobody knows that Hugh Lofting & AA Milne wrote subtext for grownups into all those childrens' stories, and Mary Poppins was really a quite frightening Nature Spirit in her original form.  In one story she talks to newborn infants who still speak with Angelic Forces & quite rudely & bluntly tells them they will lose that ability.  Of course the babies object, but little by little the Angels disappear, then they can no longer understand the birds and the language of trees, and then Poof!  The babies start to "talk" to their parents & they've forgotten everything.
Also, Rat and Mole commune with the Horned God (Pan) in Wind in the Willows -- Mr. Toad's Wild Ride indeed . . .
Childrens' Literature has always been pagan and subversive.

Ha, I see I'm not alone! I'm not asthmatic, I just think "under water" is a hostile, and ultimately fatal, environment to humans. Being under water pretending to be a fish is pretty much like jumping off a tall building pretending to be a bird to me. But strangely I also like to swim and used to jump into every water body along the way as a kid....

When it comes to buying CDs of bands whose music you've never heard of, take it with a grain of salt. I've made mistakes more often than not of buying music that came out sounding like garbage, or just wasn't my thing; all because a magazine or paper made it seem cool. Now to avoid that mistake, I just check out the tracks online, or music videos on YouTube.
