So I set my wife up with a nice set of stereo speakers for her TV.  What does she do?  Turns it on and hits the mute button, then leaves it like that for about 14 hours a day.

Some painfully poorly-animated thing called "6Teen" about the trials and tribulations of a group of sixteen year olds who basically live at a mall. 

I pointed out that the message of the show seems to be a reaffirmation of appearance-based consumerism in a society that values youth while trivializing the elderly, and my sister yelled at me.

You're not without point.  I often criticize children's programming.  Although I like Curious George,  I have to wonder how many people in the real world would tolerate a monkey doing human things.

After a coupla' years in this 'ere beeswax, I come t' figure I finally learnt me what I need t' know 'bout th' diff'rence twixt an Omnidirectional Mic, a Unidirectional Mic, a Cardioid Mic, a Super-Cardioid Mic, & a Hyper-Cardioid Mic.

No such luck!

Now I come t' find I gotta learn me th' diff'rence twixt a Condenser Mic, a Compressor Mic, & a Dynamic Mic!

& after a coupla' years, I still ain't got no idea what on God's Green Earth they mean by a "Flat Frequency Response!"

So, it's got me wondering; Is there any way to get a job doing this sort of thing? Like, actually getting paid just to proofread stuff?

Job? Yeah.  Career? Nah.

Oh, no... I'm pursuing a career in acting!

I always laughed when Hacksaw Jim Duggen wrestled and started the U....S....A.... chant in the crowd.  His opponent would often get really mad.  However, a lot of his opponents were from places like Chicago.   It all seemed kind of stupid in the long run.

I finally got paid today after a month of waiting!!!!

My wife simply doesn't appreciate the awesomeness of putting beer into a snow bank and having it ice cold hours later.

I think I might be the only person awake on New Years Day in Lancashire. It is painfully cold outside too, so cold in fact, that the skin on my knuckles has split open and is bleeding. But hey, on a brighter note, I just bought cowboy boots after 3 years of waiting!

I bought five fish on sale from Petco two days ago and they're all still alive.  I think thats a record.

I hate it how I keep hearing women complain about how there's no "good" men left, all the guys they talk to online only want one thing, how hard it is to be single, blah, blah, blah, and then I check my profiles on various dating sites to find none of the messages I've sent out have gotten any replies.
