I'm confused, would you type:

"It's an AA battery."

or

"It's a AA battery."
This is my awesome signature.  Jealous?

And when it says "AA battery" on the side of a Soviet-made Cold War era missile launcher, there's no confusion, you don't fly over it and stay out of it's way!

Say it aloud.  The grammatical rule is about the sounds.  When you read it, do you say "It is a double A battery" or "It is an A A battery".

So it depends on how you would say it out loud? It really all depends on who's reading it.  So either way you could wrong.

I'd think the odds were pretty much in favour of anyone saying "double A" over "A A".

Sony's giving away $10 to "loyal" PS3 owners.  Did I get ten bucks?  Hell no.

Oh well, at the Gamespot forums I've reached "Strawberry Candy" level.

My Junior U.S. History class today revised the lyrics of the classic Johnny Horton song,
"The Battle of New Orleans," to fit World War I:

"In 1914 we took a little trip,
Towards the German trenches,
And then we all got shot."
