Sometimes I watch The Big Bang Theory and think Sheldon is onto something with his roommate agreement. I know he took it too far but in principle it's not a bad idea, and I think every relationship ought to have something like that. Think of how good it'd make you feel to corner your spouse with the fact he's actually violating something he agreed on in writing.

"No, under Section IV, paragraph II, underwear belongs in the hamper for white clothing only. That's five bucks you owe me."

"No, only on alternate Wednesdays are you allowed to put a pillow over my face while I'm asleep and pretend you're going to smother me. Another five bucks."

"Punking me by throwing an unplugged electrical appliance in while I'm taking a bath is specifically banned under Article XVI. FIVE BUCKS."

If we had something like that I bet I could've bought my own Italian sports car by now, one infraction at a time.

I really should've put a few more clauses in that pre-nup.

When I came here just now via my usual link, I got a screen saying it was a "hacking attempt..."   ...?

Is it just me or has this site really picked up lately? :-)

I appear to have a minature arms race going on in my house. Since Kristi started wargaming with a WWII US army she's picked up 4 Sherman tanks, a Priest (M7), White Scout Car and a half track along with accompanying infantry. None of the WW2 armies I've build up (Soviet, British & Japanese) have the firepower to deal with her armour as I've normally been playing infantry based games with my friends. I've decided to stop being the only WWII wargamer who doesn't have a German army and go buy one next month. I've planned out what I want to buy which includes a pair of Panzer IV's, a Mk I Tiger and an Elephant tank destroyer. Of course she is now planning on buying heavier guns as the ones on Shermans were a bit poor at anti tank combat...

A wise man of my acquaintance has oft said in the battle of the sexes, women will always be the victor, since we are both the opponent and the goal.

I'll leave that unannotated. ;-)

Still with WRIR then.

Went to the region's biggest annual basketball game tonight to see an underdog Catholic school take on an occasional powerhouse, and after the first quarter basketball is as interesting to me as Accounting 101 is for non-Jews. I took any excuse to run to the snack bar and get things for the others and drag my heels getting back. But on our second trip up to grab nachos this black dude came up to my my de facto best friend (I hardly get to be with my lifelong best friend anymore) and asked, "Would you ladies like to buy a joint tonight?"

My mind raced for some pseudo clever way to say no, including the fact I didn't know anyone still called them joints anymore, when I heard my friend ask, "How much?"

I was roughly as surprised to hear her ask that as I'd have been if she'd suddenly started speaking Mandarin. She had a corrupt dance coach who gave her amphetamines for a while years ago but she isn't into drugs as a rule, so I went, "Seriously?"

She said, "I was just curious."

Anyway, the local told her the price and must've known we were time wasters because without another word he milled over to some other people with the same offer.

Back to our seats we went, hauling nachos and Pepsi, kind of giggling about being offered weed, but I sat there the remaining quarter thinking, "Y'know, maybe we actually should have taken him up on that since being stoned might've made the game more interesting."

Besides, the team we were pulling for lost for the first matchup in four years, kinda the cherrybomb on the stale cake.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I truly believe I enjoyed Manos. I recently watched the Creeping Terror, and somehow the movie p**sed me off. Manos is bad, but I really don't like The Creeping Terror.
yeah no.
