Recently I watched the MST3K episode featuring MITCHELL, which is the last one hosted by Joel. I felt really sad watching him go, especially because they made it so "cold". I was expecting some kind of goodbye from him, but there wasn't any except that silly joke about his favorite movie.

I watched a couple of Mike episodes and he's ok, I'll need some time to get used to it. The guy is funny tho, after all he was the head writer. I can't stand his dorky, constant smile tho.

I try to repeat myself that it's just a show and I just really should relax, but it isn't working.

I watched that show live when it aired and had no idea it was Joel's last. I watched the next week's episode thinking they would find a way to bring him back. It was a bit of a shock, but I eventually grew to like Mike just as well.

hubby and i are going to the orpheum tonight to see MST3K LIVE! JOEL'S LAST TOUR.  the bots are supposed to be with him, we're very curious about how their voices sound, since the original cast members/puppeteers aren't listed as being there too. we so enjoyed meeting trace and frank, hoping to chat with joel too!

unfortunately didn't make the show tuesday, but hubby IS feeling better, so all is well.

Lots of noise when I was trying to sleep where I was (I tried earplugs but I must claw them out in the dark) and I think I must've stayed in that half-awake zone the entire time because it seems like I never stopped dreaming.

I dreamed I was leading a friend of mine through a level of Dark Souls that in my dream seemed familiar but in reality doesn't exist, and I was trying to keep him from dying and get my dog through to a safe point (as if anyplace in DS is safe), then I had this dream that I was in Iran, waiting to be shown into a room where this religious scholar was sitting, a revered figure, and finally these young men pulled aside a sliding door and I went in and he handed me all these loose pieces of paper of mismatching sizes and motioned for me to take them back with me, and the fact this old man gave me papers awed the young men out in the waiting area of this mosque-like building, and I was trying not to drop the papers in heavy wind, wanting to get out of there, but in my dream I also felt proud to have been given these papers, whatever they were.

With all this COPPA talk, I'm genuinely thinking of taking down my youtube page.  I haven;t monetized anything, but since the most popular videos I have are my G-Fest and cosplay contests I might be targeted.  I don't know.

It was a great day. I didn't work, I played my old favorite Dark Souls 3, I hung out with new friends, had sushi, shot on an archery range (I am not a good archer, grrr), went into a steam bath then had a massage that combined gentleness with barely-legal torture techniques of twisting limbs to the point of injury and my neck around til I was imitating The Exorcist, and all that resulted in my muscles humming and my brain swimming in endorphins----partly out of glee that the painful parts were over, but I want another one.

Life was good today. Tomorrow "may" suck, but today was good.

I feel old in a server on Discord, mainly because I'm a good 4-10 years older than some that I interact with.

And with the departure of James Hendry, all four of my favorite safari guides have left Wild Earth. Tayla, Brent, Jamie, now James. Good times never last.
