This one is completely baffling. I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner. Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Bo Jackson as superheroes.

ProStars.  I posted it earlier as well.  Good minds think alike.

Ah, you did. Guess I missed that one the first time.

Hahaha forgot all about that one - thanks for the memory...I think.  For some reason, I just remembered that good ol' Chuck Norris had his own cartoon.  And I also remember watching the Rambo cartoon before school when I was little.

Haven't been able to find a clip, but Mutant League was a show that was badly written, badly made, and damned strange.

I remember that.  It was based off the Sega games, Mutant League Hockey and Mutant League Football.

Nobody here mentions the worst of the worst:
Clutch Cargo & Space Angel!!
I'm sure clips exist on YouTube somewhere -- they have everything.
Both series featured non-moving cartoon drawings, static in every respect but for the mouth, which were the mouths of real people . . .
Had to be seen to be believed -- Was current when I was in Kindergarten, so 1960-61 or so.
Plots included ripoffs of The Lost World, so appealed to the dinosaur-lover in us all, but even the dinosaurs were static.
Featured an annoying dog drawing -- can't call it a character --:  A dachshund called Paddlefoot.  Nothing else named here comes close to these anomolies, though I was reminded of Space Angel by the eye-patch wearing guy in the Fantastic Voyage clip here, as Space Angel also sported a eye-patch.
I have no idea what this means.

Space Angel

Clutch Cargo

I remember seeing these two on TV, they were awful, the stories were okay it's just that the only animation was the character's mouths. Their lips moved up and down when they spoke but didn't match any thing they said, they just moved up and down.

My own personal pick would be Johnny Quest, I remember thinking that any kids who cause this much trouble for their family should be the victims of a justifiable homicide by their parents.

I think that it's hilarious that the guy on the left in the red shirt, Race Bannon was given the "Mother of the Year" award by the Cartoon Network for risking his life repeatedly to save Johnny and Haji from some scrape they'd gotten themselves into.

I actually like Jonny Quest, it was one of the few cartoons I remeber where even when edited for later reruns, it was pretty clear that people actually died. Plus it lead decades later to The Venture Bros. show, which has great fun with that show and fanboydom in general.

I remember way too many of the shows from the 70s and 80s, and saw plenty of 60s shows in reruns on Cartoon Network. They may not match the level of crap of Clutch Cargo, but you can only see so many bad shows before this modern era. Besides they make up in breadth of lousy for what they can't match in depth of lousy.

I am waiting for Hollywood to try a live action Thundarr the Barbarian any day now, it seems like the perfect fodder for the remake machine.

Way before the days of legal work, Birdman was an awful cartoon...
