For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

I simply adore "The Wiz" and "Return to Oz".  I've met some fans of "Return to Oz" but no one else has ever liked "The Wiz".

I know "Lifeforce" tends to get a bad rap but I find it weirdly fascinating. It's actually the best melding of the horror and Sci-Fi genres that I've seen.

Karma for you!!! Lifeforce is awesome!
I like LIFEFORCE...
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Yah, you Lifeforce-likers.  I know what you're all about.    I have a Joe Walsh song for you, uh-huh (uh huh) uh-huh what it is...

I liked Mars Attacks!  too.  My favorite part was the vision of what was left after the world was wiped out:  Tom Jones and a MARIACHI BAND!

Super Mario Brothers -- Saw this when I was younger and, for some reason, have never been able to fault it. It's a bad movie, but I don't care. I do like the cartoon series better, but that's another story.

Feardotcom -- not that I really like this movie, but I don't mind it. I've never met another person who had anything nice to say about it.

Fritz the Cat -- this movie has a strange rap; some people seem to like it in a nostalgic sort of way; however, many bash it for being pretentious and abrasive. I actually like the movie a lot, it's quite a trip.

I really wanna see that. Have you seen the sequel?

The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat isn't all that good, as it didn't involve any of the original people, just the producers who owned the name -- Neither Robert Crumb nor Ralph Bakshi were part of the production.
If you want to see a good Ralph Bakshi cartoon -- and this is on-topic, as many people on this board don't care for Ralph -- try to get the British cut of Heavy Traffic(1973).  Most versions in this country are the watered-down American "R" version, but the version that played in Europe on the big screen was uncensored.  I'm told that there is a mostly-uncensored DVD out now, but all the VHS versions I've seen cut some key scenes.

I have no idea what this means.

Kester Pelagius

This is one of those threads where the fear of ridicule wars against one's desire to speak up for underrated underdog (or just unfairly maligned) cinema.  But I've been reading and, if my fellow Bad-movie-orgers are brave enough to admit watching (and liking) the likes of Josie and The p***ycats I guess it's time for me to step up. . *deep breath* .  . and admit. .

My Name is Kester Pelagius and I liked SHOWGIRLS.  That movie was hilarious.

I also like(d) FAIRY TALES, CREEPOZOIDS, HYBRID, STAR CRYSTAL, CREATURE, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME, EVENT HORIZON, PROJECT SHADOWCHASER 3000, THE TERROR WITHIN I & II, DEATHSTALKER, CONQUEST, BREEDERS (1986), BREEDERS (1995), BARBARIAN QUEEN, LEPRECHAUN 4: IN SPACE, TROLL, ZOMBIE LAKE, BEOWULF (Christopher Lambert), GIA, 2069: A SEX ODYSSEY, GALAXY OF TERROR, FORBIDDEN WORLD, KEKKO KAMEN, INSEMINOID, WING COMMANDER and........

As for LIFEFORCE, that is a classic, what's not to like?

I enjoyed Creepozoids but don't want to see it again any time soon. I know it got a 'Skull' rating on this site but G.I Samurai isn't too bad a film despite the weird scenes where Sonny Chiba and his Samurai ally ride around a beach to a romantic disco ballad. The cinematography and action scenes are well done. Also, I find the Bond film Moonraker to be a lot of fun. It is outrageously corny but the action sequences are pretty exciting. It's actually a better Star Wars cash-in than the Flash Gordon movie.

I only recently saw SHAUN OF THE DEAD. I loved it although I was slightly disappointed the humor eventually gave way to the expected all out zombie horror movie assault.

Kester, let's sit back and look at some horribly disliked films... can we start with EVENT HORIZON?    :teddyr:

For liking Showgirls you have earned Karma.  I loved it in a way as well.  I'm going to give it the MST3K treatment when I get in better health.

I haven't, but I heard that it doesn't continue the story of the first movie, instead it puts together a bunch of skits from different time periods with the character in it.

It's on my to do list, but Fritz sent me for such a loop I had to watch some wholesome torture porn to get me stable again.
