Looks like a cross between godzilla and a chicken or what ever its got a birds head and a dinasoars body and its stomping around a city deviled eggs anyone?

Don't listen to people thinking The X From Outer Space is a bad movie, The X From Outer Space rocks I loved this film and besides Guilala does not look like a Space chicken for crying out loud. The attack scenes are very well done and the Monster's Roar sounds scary even Guilala looks scary. I think The X From Outer Space is the best 1960's movie 10 times better then King Kong Escapes Guilala rules.

I am 32 years old now and I have been searchin for this movie for allmost whole life. I have seen it when I was 4 years old and I had a nightmares for over a week ! I couldn't recall the name of the beast because I thought it's name was "Gamma" - because the whole movie they repeated "AAB GAMA". Two things were  burned into my memory - the chase scene and the muzzles of tanks firing at Guilala.

I have seen it 3 days ago - after 28 years - and this is the clearly BEST B movie ever made. If you want to scare you childs, let them watch this gem of cinematography ;-)

Best regards to all fans

Hello Andrew and everyone else out on the Badmovies review commentary board,I belive I have the best news concerning The X-From Outer Space,Showa Video has the Orion version, complete with dubbed reporters!.Finally and at last a great version along with the original Japanese version, the one TCM keeps showing, why that can't show the Orion version is beyond me.It's unfortunate though that the sceens where Dr.Lisa was experimenting with the gulanium on moonbase and Galiela going through the oil field seems to be lost,on someones cutting room floor, also a shame no one has come out with a real color version of War of the Monsters,I have one but not in the best condition wouldn't you know.I few points of fact, one like Chris.K I'm certainly glad this great classic was not on MST3K,even though they were of  Sandy Frank versions of the Gamera movies,I still to this have mixed feelings about them being on MST3K,like wise I'm glad they didn't show Atragon either. I suppose the reason this film was titled X-From Outer Space is due to the fact that X in the dictionary is referred to as an unknown element ,as in the case of this spore released by that UFO,we never did find who these aliens were, but now come word the Japanese are planning a new Galiea film oh one can only hope and pray they do like the way monster movies used to made in the good old days.

I believe it was two years ago when ordered The X & Attack of the Monsters from Keith at Showa Video. The X was an old AIP print, and AOTMs wasn't very good,in fact scenes were missing, when I told Mr.Picozzi about this he looked at it sent me an email saying I was right,so I asked him if there was anything I could do. He said if I had a really good video of either X-From Outer Space and he could easily fix AOTMs but he needed a new 2mins. of Gurion & Gaos, well I had both, the rest as they say,is a fantastic job by Keith Picozzi, dubbed reporters & the 2mins of SF on the AIP classic AOTMs!. As for this new Galiela or Girara which ever way you want to spell it,"Please Fellas Please!,"Don't make the same mistakes the people responsable for those new Gamera did!!". You know changing his looks, and have a decent storyline, you know just like the good old days when Creature Feature was Creature Feature. Of the new Gamera films, that Irs movie still bugs me the most, now when will we get an English dialogue version of Gamera The Brave??.

Did i just find out where porn industry got their inspiration for b*****e?

Guilala has made a return...he's appearing in a commercial for job search agency "The Ladders", first in dozens of tiny (12" tall) version, being ridiculously cute in their attempt to be menacing (the worst they do is take a hubcap off a car), representing other job search agencies, and a full-sized version shows up, breathing fire (representing "The Ladders").

I was amused.

Oh Oh!!,I just read the review about the current X movie over at Sci-Fi Japan.

Not good,I was afraid that might be the case, only proving once again, old school was better, everyone just seemed to know how things had to be made, back then.

Fortunately you can get a great copy of the AIP original from Showa Video,I gave it to Keith.

Maybe one day, people who make these movies will get the hang of it again, hopefully.
I did see that Ladders commercial on You Tube, sweet,at least one good thing I can say,he's still the same old Girara, which considering the awful incarnations of Gamera these days is quite a complement in itself.

If a monster's right the first time, don't try to change it the second time.
Thanks guys for keeping Girara the way he was!,now if only makers of Gamera movies would get the hint.

George

Unfortunately now that Showa Video is no longer what it used to be,I don't know what happened to the only really great DVD AIP version of X-From Outer Space that I gave to Keith.
I only hope people who really liked X-From Outer Space got this DVD version from Showa Video when they had the chance.

And no matter what the critics over at the imdb say, this is a classic 10 of a Creature Feature, just like Return of the Giant Monsters and Godzilla vs. The Thing!.

Anyone else notice the elaborate but almost never seen and never used claw on the end of the monster's tail?

Yeah, lmao. I've seen that commercial and Guilala was instantly recognizable.  How did they get the licensing for the character though?  In any case, so odd that an obscure monster would show up in a commercial like this. Someone must really have liked the character and had a great memory from their childhood.

Actually, yeah you're right there is a claw at the end. I guess it was just an extra gadget, LOL  Also, Peggy Neal, that blonde with the big-ass lips, is back in this movie. Previously she played alongside Sonny Chiba in Terror Beneath The Sea. Now THAT one was a hoot.

They might have made the movie a little less ludicrous if maybe they'd make it clear that the monster used it's twin vertical antennae to detect energy, and the curly horn thing  under them to drain energy. least then those things would have had purpose.

This was a pretty amusing little kaiju flick, the american bashing didn't even bother me the movie was so funny. I notice the guy who played the whining Dr. Smith like Dr. Stein also played the scientist in the far funnier "the green slime" movie.

If you expect an explanation for the flying omelette you should know you never get one.

You expected a movie like this to have sense in it? What do you smoke?
