Roger Allam knocks his performance out of the park!  As always, he is extremely menacing.  In all honesty, he was one of my favorite things about the film.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

This is easily my favorite movie right now. I wish it would stay in theatres for years and years. Always on the biggest screen, always the best sound system. This is a visual platter to relish in. Everything is so freaking pretty! It's so so so nice to watch. And it's not a terrible story. There's a lot of great mythology that is built into the story that kind of gets taken for granted, such as the Burns/Stickler race for the Grand Prix. Or my favorite, the goddess of the cross country rally who fires the start gun when she sees the sun crest the horizon. That's an excellent concept and I think it's one of the movie's many many elements that are being overlooked. And the movie's visual design outside of the CG world is rich and beautiful. The wallpaper, the racing posters, the clothing - it's all design specific to this film and it's all top-of-the-line. I especially love the cowboy vest/neckerchief print t-shirt one of the kids wears at a birthday party. I could spend a while gushing over the film. I really think this one is going to be around and talked about for many many years.
