Four months after the death of her boyfriend, a young and depressed pregnant woman is awaiting the birth of her child. Having shut out those around her, she spends Christmas alone in her house, wallowing in misery. Unfortunately, someone decides to pay her a visit...

As fans of cheezy slasher movies with made-to-be-killed characters and cookie cutter plots, we get a certain guilty pleasure out of watching violence and gore erupt on screen. As extremely well made a film as Inside is, no such pleasure exists. Its not because the acting is bad (it isnt) or that the gore doesent look real enough (it does), but rather because of its quality, the film comes off as unpleasant rather than fun. Its as if someone filmed the Tate/LaBianca murders and decided to market them as a slasher flick. Far be it from me to accuse a movie of being too violent, but the idea of watching a pregnant woman (and by extension anyone who tries to help her) getting beaten, stabbed and tortured isnt my idea of a good time. That isnt to say its a bad film, just that you have to be prepared for what you're getting into. Not recommended for expectant couples.

"Tonight, we will honor the greatest writers in America with a modest 9 by 12 certificate and a check for three thousand dollars...three thousand dollars? Stephen King makes more than that for writing boo on a cocktail napkin." - Jimmy Breslin
