How often do you folks eat vegetables?  I find myself eating much more in the summer time when my gardens are producing.  Right now zucchini and green beans are on the menu a lot in my house.  What kind do you like to eat?

My Zucchini and Squash are starting to play out still a few but the heat starts to get them in July, Sweet Corn is in as are the Green Beans, Peppers and cucumbers. My greens are long gone and it's getting about time to plant them again in late Aug. I got my first ripe tomato today, which means I'll have about 10,000 by next week.

But yes I tend to eat more veggies in the summer from the garden, we grill corn, zukes and squash a few times a week. Make pickles, salsa, freeze corn and can pickled squash. All kinds of stuff.

Great now I'm hungry.

I hate all veggies except corn and potatoes.
Greens of any kind make me gag.
The smell of a salad makes me nauseous and the crunch of lettuce between my teeth is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I wish I liked vegetables, but I don't.

I like lettuce - well, actually it tastes awful by itself, but put some ranch dressing and a few croĆ»tons on it, it's great.  Our bean plants will start producing any day now, and we'll be eating those every day for a month or two.  I like sweet corn, peas, broccoli with cheese sauce, cauliflower, celery with peanut butter, rhubarb, potatoes (hate sweet potatoes though), carrots, onions, heck, anything but tomatoes actually.

Try a bit of barbecue sauce on it, that'll improve it.  :bouncegiggle:

I like all vegetables except a few disgusting "cruciferous" vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts.  I do like cabbage, though.  I prefer to eat tomatoes and carrots when their cooked, and of course I don't eat raw onions.  And I'm not a fan of asparagus.  I don't eat as many fresh raw vegetables as I should.

Personally, I look at it this way:

Cows spend their whole lives eating vegetables.  Their body removes all the bad stuff from them and then uses the best part of the veggies to build muscle tissue, which I then grill and eat.  Eating beef is simply a more efficient means to eat all the greens you need.

So how do I like my vegetables?

On the hoof.

I prefer meat but I do like potatoes (prepared any way), sweetcorn, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots (boiled, not raw) and especially brussles sprouts.

Umm, Indy, why do I get the feeling that you may not be as "regular" as you could be?  Not that I care, mind you.

Thinking about it some more, I think my aversion to certain vegetables comes almost entirely from being force-fed them as a child.  I still remember gagging and almost vomiting from some broccoli I was forced to eat.  When I had the opportunity to try out new vegetables on my own, I tended to like them.

No disrespect intended to you or your poop, Indy.

I do find fresh fruits and vegetables, erm, helpful in that regard.

I don't eat enough vegetables as I should be eating.  I love corn, potatoes, Broccoli is good now and then.  I love my various types of lettuce and tomatoes.  Peppers are my overall favorite vegetable to eat both the regular types of peppers and the hot peppers.
