I guess with childrens movies it's okay to have corny cliches and some predictable plots because kids don't know about them yet.  This was enjoyable.  the kids have super powers that they don't even really try to hide.  You figure the media or NASA would be after them but, again, kids movie.  to quote MST3K you should really just relax. They have a cat Winky who winks and is also magical.  I didn't watch the sequal because I'm not 9 years old and didn't really care what happened next but I would recommend this mainly for kids but also adults who can appreciate 70's type weirdness and cheap sci fi.

here's a nice scene where they send a pack of dogs to  kill and eat the escaping kids.  features MAGICK

I remember going to see this one in the old TEXAN Theater in downtown Greenville when I was 11 years old with my 5th grade girlfriend . . . who was also my high school girlfriend . . . who is now my wife.

Thanks for bringing back a fond memory.  Popcorn, soda, and daring to hold hands when her mom wasn't looking.  It was a different era.

They're making another "Witch Mountain" movie due out next year titled "Race To Witch Mountain".

I saw this at the Harlem-Cermak cinema ,  near Chicago, when I was a wee kiddee. My aunt took my sister and me. I developed a HUGE crush on Kim Richards that lasted for years, through her "Hello Larry" period and Tuff Turf. Then she disappeared. Recently I read that the pure and chaste love of my innocent youth is Paris Hilton's aunt!  You're right Indiana, it WAS a different era :bluesad:

Two reasons to watch the sequel to this movie, "Return from Witch Mountain." It is the only time that both  of Bette Davis and Christopher Lee appeared in the same film together,  and it was the last theatrical film appearance of Jack Soo.
