Actually, I think we Americans are responsible for the current raccoon plague.

"The first raccoons were brought from North America in the 19th century. Their population grew by leaps and bounds when an Allied bomb hit a raccoon farm in 1945, releasing more into the wild."

Great "trojan horse" style strategy--send our raccoon spies into the heart of Axis territory, then bomb the raccon farms and let them loose on the vineyards to break Nazi spirits.  Who knew the Germans would be our allies decades later?  Uh, sorry guys.

If the raccoons could develop a taste for Cane Toads, they could ship 'em all to Australia.

Or visy very, if the Cane Toads will eat the raccoons, Australia can ship 'em to Germany.
